Does it mean anything when a guy calls you by the short version of your name?

And I don't mean common short forms (like Liz for Elizabeth). In this case, my name isn't Larissa but it's similar. The other day when he complimented me on something, he said "Good job, Lariss!"

Only my best friend calls me by that short version of my name...so I see it as personal.

I saw it as a way of being flirty, given that he has been flirty otherwise.

my name is jessica and a gut called me jessie. And I aked him "Did u just call me Jessie?" And he turned his head and smiled. Then a girl asked him to rate her looks throught 1-10 and he being dead serious rating her at a 2. Then she asked him to rate me and he said "I'm not rating Jessica." And looked away and smiled. I think you're over analyzing this. There are much more overt ways that he will let you know he's into you. Moreover, calling you by a name that all your female friends call you might be suggesting something else entirely.
