Guy adjusting his pants?

If a teenage boy keeps kind of pulling/tugging at the center of the waist on his basketball shorts, what does that mean? No hands in pants, no actually grabbing anything, but his hand keeps kind of automatically heading there/hovering over his crotch as he talks to me and then sometimes he'll kind of tug on the waistband. I've seen him do this several times when I've had conversations with him.

His pants looked kind of tight-ish but I really couldn't tell/didn't want to *look*.

It could be a few things, he could have a boner and he's trying to make it not rub on his shorts but it usually doesn't happen to often (more when they are in the first few years of puberty). It could just be a nervous tick, my little brother grabs his crotch a lot, not for any particular reason, just like a twitch. The pant's could be to tight and digging into his waistline and he's trying to relieve the discomfort, it could be a lot of things.

Hmm well he's like 14 so idk...and he doesn't usually do this, just sometimes.

If it helps, I'm almost 100% sure he likes me a LOT.

Once I came into the room and he started twisting one leg over the other and looked really uncomfortable and stared at me with really intense huge eyes for like 10 min. I'm guessing that *was* one - it was kind of hard for me to look at him, that's how intense his gaze was.

The weird thing is, tonight he didn't look particularly uncomfortable...just super bouncy like normal. But messing with his pants isn't normal for him. Can guys have a boner and still carry on a normal conversation with a straight face? (admittedly smiling a lot etc. - he always does that and looks straight into my eyes).

Of course, might even be the reason they're smiling, and does he blink when he's looking into your eyes? A long time between blinks when making eye contact indicate a sexual desire for that person. Or occasionally an urge to kill them but I'm fairly certain that's not the case here.

Well...I'll put it this way, he is *always* talking to me, smiling at me, etc. and rarely takes his eyes from mine when he talks/they look "bright." Now that I think about it he doesn't seem to blink that much - just looks into my eyes (not creepily lol). His brother talks to me a lot but it's not the same - the brother doesn't watch my face when someone else is talking to me. This guy will look at *me* regardless of who else he is talking to (unless he's talking only to them obviously lol).

Could've been a boner, but also, if he didn't have pockets and you made him nervous for whatever reason, his hands are going to be fidgety. No pockets while nervous is torture!

If it was one would he be able to carry on a conversation with a straight face (smiling, direct eye contact, etc.) Could he get two in one evening (like 30-40 min apart at least)?

Sure, they're a fact of life, and you can't just stop what you're doing every time you get one... Gotta learn to deal. As for the timing, that's reasonable, some days they just come and go.

well there is the possibility you're giving him a boner but I doubt that. maybe he's nervous or self conscious and doesn't know what to do with his hands.

next time you see him do it just say to him "are you trying to hide your boner?" then laugh and tell him you're kidding it'll be good for a laugh.
