Because it's a MATRIARCAL CULTURE, women are usually the ones who are in control in the relationships in south America. Also, since the justice system has a lot of corruption it's hard to women to secure commitment from men. So, as a result from this difficulty women have evolved means to keep control over their reproductive success by knowing 1/2 the people in the city and being aware of the high danger zones. Option 2 is often more appealing for the girls in South America and since guys then to die faster than girls due to the elevated crime rate. Those who survive and thrive in that environment get to father many children even thou Bigamy is still illegal, it's not rare in South America to hear stories of an uncle who had one official woman and 2-3 unofficial women.

In addition, South America has been invaded so many times that all races mixed. It's that mix that often is the most dangerous in order to assess paternity, it's not rare to hear stories of women being battered, but that aside if these women ever get to North America in order to secure a better future, these women make fierce competition for Caucasian women and Black women mostly because they are no strangers to harsh environments and also they are looking for the guy who thrives in the new environment.

I've lived in Europe, the US and in Colombia. Men go gaga for Latinas not because they are prettier but because they are more comfortable in their femeninity than women of other cultures. Latina's take more care of their figure and they walk and talk in a femenine form and they allow men to be the smart, funny and strong ones (especially in front of other people). In other words Latina's are extremely careful so as not to emasculate the men they date. They also take care so as not to sleep immediately with the man they are into hence she allows the man to fall in love with her before sex.
