Why do males act so serious around me?

Apparently I have a strut and have a strong aura.

Especially since I am not like other teenage girls, I am very political and speak my mind etc etc do weight lifting, wear combat boots etc.

But even when I am not being serious, boys just seem to act different around me. They act very serious... but around other girls they act very immature and much more relaxed...

What do you think?

this is just speculation, so it may be true or completely wrong:

-youre smart and mature, which makes people feel like they should not be immature around you. If that's the case, the solution is to start being more goofy and immature yourself to those very people. You have to show people that you're not all serious and like to laugh it up and be silly. You can't expect them to just know that part of you when you never show it. If they respect you, they will follow your lead(. and if they become more serious around you, it sounds like they do)

You've created an attitude and persona for yourself as a political militant. That isn't the kind of thing that "shuts off" in most people's minds. By adopting an out-of-the-mainstream image and persona, you aren't treated in a mainstream way, which is usually the whole point of such an image and persona.

Someone that comes off "political", is seen at someone that is not "loose" and is "serious".

The reason why males in particular may act like that around you, is because you're not feminine and relaxed enough around them.

You need to make sure you are extra-friendly and extra loose (as in not-so-serious) to balance out your strong aura.

You actually sound like a run-of-the-mill teenage girl. I have a feeling it's not just males who act this way around you due to your "strange" demeanor. When people act serious around you it actually means that they A ) fear you or B ) (which is more likely) don't want to have to deal with you and hope you go away due to disinterest in your existence.
