Any girls use the "proximity" flirting method? How long do you wait before giving up?

By the proximity method I mean you just stand close to a guy you are attracted to and hope he says something.

Would you give him 10 seconds, or any specific amount of time?

Is the silence really awkward to you? How does it make you feel...do you assume he's clueless/into whatever he's doing or do you feel like you aren't pretty in his eyes?

Or would you convince yourself that you are actually where you are for a reason and play it off (like if you're at a bookstore, you see the guy and stand next to him but he doesn't say anything, you'll pretend like you were looking for a book all along)

If he doesn't make a move I would assume he is either committed or not interested. If I don't get the signal from his end I will forget him as soon as I walk out the door. If it were at a bookstore for example, I might try to reach for the same book as he does and see what happens lol.

The amount of time really depends on the circumstance. At a book store I suppose more time. But if we are in line at the store and I'm next to check out.. he better start talking lol.

Silence can be awkward- depends on the circumstance. Sometimes you can say all you want just by the way you look at each other.

If we are standing close and no eye contact or engaging coming from him, I still wouldn't feel awkward... he is probably so clueless he didn't even notice lol

A bit but not really. If I'm interested in a guy I will stand near him for at least more than ten seconds, and I'll look at him at least a few times to see if he's looking at me. But for the most part I go about my business because standing next to someone for no reason is freaking weird.

I've done that a few times, and the length of time depends on the environment. If I'm talking to other people, the atmosphere is very casual and I feel generally relaxed, he'll have all the time in the world to talk to me. If there's much less people around I'll give him about 30 seconds, and then I'll assume he's not interested in me.

if I catch a glimpse of a cute boy I try to get closer to get a good look at his face if I like what I see I try to seem like I'm supposed to be there for at least several minutes. depends on the situation though.
