The bottom line is that, for such people, and the circles of people they surround themselves with, using drugs isn't something they're ashamed of, nor something they intend to stop doing, so they have no real problem admitting to it, because they don't want to meet someone who gives them a bunch of grief about their drug use (and they'd prefer to meet others who use as well, because misery loves company).
Police don't have time to troll dating websites for end-users of drugs; they're mostly looking for dealers and distributors. Sure, they'll bust a user if the happen across one in the course of their day, but they don't specifically seek them out just because they use. If they did that, it would be a simple matter to find them in any drug rehab.
Not more dangerous than drinking or seeing multiple people at the same time or looking for casual sex on the internet. And they admit to that too.
It's not about seeing the danger, it's more bout not being ashamed of it. Clearly, they don't feel ashamed.
Well to be honest, maybe they are looking for someone who is also into that type of drug so that they don't have to change?
My boyfriend openly admitted to being an alcoholic and also to using drugs online. He's in recovery for his alcoholism but the only drugs he does is pot.
So he was very upfront and honest with me. At first when I checked out his profile, I didn't care for him. But then he sent me a message and I was impressed. He could string together sentences and came across as actually pretty intelligent. Most messages I get are very short, think one or two words and have spelling mistakes.
But he came across really well, so I agreed to meet him.
I'm glad I did because we have had perfect communication off the bat.
I would imagine that they want to meet people who also partake, so they don't want to waste time on people who have issues being with someone who is against it.
