I still believe that grown ups that act like that don't have their life together, they are people who escape reality and don't try to improve themselves. Not someone who you can count on.

Immature and selfish , me personally will not
Get into a relationship with a selfish immature girl period , selfish people are not meant for relationships period , because all they care about is themselves, so someone else can gladly have her if she isn’t mature and respectful and has good moral values. I don’t get into a relationship with a girl to be single , people that do , are just wasting their time and their partners’ time as well, because it isn’t going to last whatsoever, especially when the partner realizes their partner is selfish and immature, I have dumped girls’ instantly that stopped wearing my shoes the same way she expected me to wear hers’ , if she doesn’t respect our relationship and the boundaries we agreed upon together , I am not going to waste my time with her what’s and no longer respect her , she just becomes a piece of ass over anything else , that I will gladly let another guy take her off my hands , and feel he is doing me a favor. I give the same way I hope to receive in return , I will be in a relationship with a girl that wears my shoes the same way I wear hers’ that isn’t selfish, that isn’t immature, that stays loyal and faithful to me the same way I am to her. I don’t expect perfect but I do expect respect and honesty and maturity. I can’t stand selfish people period that want their cake and to eat it to. people can enjoy their lives the way they like, they don't have to fit into others expectations and this is what i call mature.

someone who is mature wouldn't give a damn about what others needs or wants from him, maturity is living for yourself not being a doormat who tries to please others or at least have an image of it.

they don't escape their reality, they either escape reality as a whole since reality the outside world presents is utterly boring or they realized the word reality is an empty word and you are the one who has to fill with whatever you deem fit.

also improving themselves? let's assume for a second improving yourself means a damn, how do you know they don't while they still do those things? or what does improving yourself even means? making money? wasting your life nurturing a monogamous comedy show?

Yes and no depends what your counting on... i know some drug addicts that work harder then you and I put together. And they do it for drugs, something I see no value in. I agree you can't always count on these people but at the same time I have watched a crackhead basically rake a yard with a fork not complain about it once during. Get done get his money disappear for a hour and then show back up wanting more work. I wouldn't want to do this work for the little bit of money I think it's worth, but he does. It not you can't count on a drug addicts it's just you have to understand what motivates then and what you can get out of them. I'll let the crackhead use a rake but when you give him a leaf blower it's going to disappear with him. It's just about understanding what a person believes their worth to be.

Yep, and I know. I can count on that also. That doesn't mean I can't count on him to do the work first. I think drugs make people more predictable than someone not on drugs, in certain ways... I wouldn't want a serious relationship with someone like that, but it doesn't make them worthless either. I'm just saying it's about knowing how to use people and things to your advantage. They are going to still be there whether you love or hate them, use them to your advantage, or dont.

I wouldn’t call that immature necessarily. I can see why you would think that, escapism is a common coping mechanism among children, but I think if someone has a party lifestyle as an adult that escapism is the only way they can function with whatever’s happening to them. And of course, in excess, it can be deadly. I don’t see them as children who never grew up, I see them as adults that were never allowed to be kids and didn’t adjust well to adulthood as a result.
