White thing sticking out from tongue?

A couple weeks ago I was brushing my teeth and I noticed this white stringy looking little thing stinking out from tongue and at first I thought it was food or something my toothbrush left behind but I touched it and started to pull and it wouldn't come out. Now I have no idea what it is. I thought it was just something that would go away eventually, but it's still there. It's like a mini "bone" or tissue, I have no clue but every time I pull on it, it hurts. I was thinking about cutting it out but I'm really scared to lol I don't know if it's something serious or not, but it's just sitting there and I don't know what to do. Anybody have a clue on what this could be?

You probably have very large sublingual papilla, you shouldn't chop them off yourself unless you wanna bleed everywhere. If they really bother you, go to a doctors and they will freeze them off :P

Holy sh*t, are you serious? Haha it does kind of look like that, but instead of it being underneath the tongue it's on top near the tip.

How do they even form, is it bad?

If it's the same thing, we all have them, they just usually don't go out so far. Some people grow bigger ones than others, and apparently they can be enflamed and brought out more. I'm not really sure if it's the same thing though, I'd see a doctor. It's not a bad thing if it doesn't bother you. I mean you could live normally with them, but some people get annoyed by them so they get them frozen off :P

maybe you bit your tongue and that was a little piece of flesh. If it's thin you can cut it so it doesn't tear more, if not I would try to leave it alone, let it heal, rinse your mouth with salt water to prevent infection.
