What kind of man likes a 'damsel in distress'?

I'm curious what type of guy likes a true damsel in distress (not the ones who fake it)? A girl who looks up to him and will ask him when she needs him and then be truly thankful for his help and return the love?

I know sone guys like it. But would you say those are the traditional guys? The macho men? The nice guy? The abusive guys? What do you think?

Guys that claim they only like strong women that don't need men, tend to be guys that don't want to step up and accept the responsibilities of a relationship. They have a "Bitch handle your own problems, and don't bother me with them as if I actually care about you" type of attitude. Or they are guys that are just saying what they think women want to hear. Since most women don't want to hear that all of the things they have worked hard for isn't really going to help them attract a man.

The kind of man that is attracted to the damsel in distress is any man that wants to feel valued by the woman. Most guys like being able to know that the women we care about is better off because of us. We certainly don't want to think we are holding them back, and believe their lives are not as good because of us. There is a huge difference to meeting a woman in distress and a woman that is just useless at all times without someone to take care of her.

I think you are right. Its the same with all those feminists and frustrated business women who claim they don't need a man. But the second they meet a real men they turn from bitchy and bossy into a shy kitten :) I've seen it happen at work!

A true damsel in distress would piss me off. Bitch, I'm not saving your ass in a castle from a turtle dragon thing. You're an adult, take responsibility for yourself.

However, if you mean a damsel as in a girl who simply needs help with something and will truly appreciate what I do, I would like that. I like a girl who is her own person, but if she needs me to help her with something she couldn't easily do on her own, I would be glad to do it for her (only if she was a girlfriend or regular friend, though).

Not many guys nowadays want a dependent woman, a 'damsel' in distress. We mostly hope to find someone who can help us out of our messes, as well as mostly handle her own problems!

I don't know any guy that wants to fix a mess of a woman, or who wants to play daddy and make all her decisions and such. It good to help your partner when they truly need it, and to be apreciated for that support. It just can't become a habbit or else it comes of like they are a needy dependent (child), not a serious partner.

When I'm in a relationship I like to look after the woman I'm with and do everything I can to make her happy.

Unfortunately I've learned the hard way that there a lot of women out there who use guys like me so I am more careful now. Sad.

I am the committed, good, nice type guy. Guys that like girls like that I would consider behind the times, lacking a backbone or self esteem, or are just desperate. There's a girl at work where she's constantly asking for my help, playing the "Oh! You're so tall and strong" game and it honestly annoys the hell out of me.

I think every guy likes to feel needed from time to time.

That said, I think many guys will avoid damsels who are always in distress. Very few men will tolerate a drama queen.

I hate when girls cry about everything and act like they need to be waited on all the time and it would be nice if the women you speak of were more common. I have stopped and helped women change popped tires before, I helped an elderly lady load her groceries into her trunk on a hot day, and I always hold doors open for women. I don't do it to get praise or thanks, I do it because that's what right and what you should do in those situations.
