What does it mean when your guy friend calls you a loser?

i needed some extra help so the teacher offered some extra practice on this topic. I sit all the way in the back so I had to go get the paper and my friend sits up in the front. I went up grabbed the paper and then when I turned around he was like hahaha loser, he was like smiling a lot and laughing pretty hard. I just gave the look. What does this all mean

Only a few options here:

1) you really are a loser (I don't think it's this one).

2) your friend likes you (I don't think it's this one either).

3) your friend is a douche bag (my bet is on this one).

If you're in school and you need help learning something or you don't get something, that's nothing to make fun of. But people do make fun of it because they're douche bags. Just move on and don't think anything of it.

My friends do that to me all the time. It's just how some guys are, they like to pick on you in a friendly way. I don't think he meant anything by it, he was just messing with you. I call the girls I hang out with names all the time and they do the same back to me. They know I'm joking and I know they are it's just playful teasing and it doesn't mean anything.
