Why did people have a different attitude with Jessie Slaughter than Amanda Todd?

When Amanda Todd's nude photo got posted online. People crucified her and commented on how terribly she was raised.

Jessie Slaughter's posted nude photos of her self online and everyone defended her and said it didn't have anything to do with her upbringing.

To Jessie she was only 12 and made a mistake and it wasn't her parents fault, but to Amanda her parents did the terrible job raising her and she was stupid for allowing her pictures to get posted online.

How come it was different for Amanda?

Timing. People sympathize differently when things are "new". This reminds me of this: link Abraham Biggs was also someone who pretty much did the same thing and for the most part was attacked and harassed for it. Needless to say when it happened again ( multiple times, multiple places ) the bad behavior was not tolerated and people actually got tracked and arrested.

The reality of cyberbullying and internet shenanigans ( plus the fact that JS' parents, namely her father, were just incompetent when it came to the internet vs. AT's parents who were essentially criticized for being passive and failing to 'protect' their child against the evils of the internet since the girl was lonely to begin with when this occurred kind of shifts things in the favor of JS' parents since it's also something sympathized now anyway ) and their deadly nature is just a bit more real than it used to be. This is esp. true after a lot of people committed suicide during the recent recession.

Wasn't Amanda Todd the girl who committed suicide? If so, then maybe prior to her suicide they thought she was being an attention whore or something. After her suicide...idk, honestly why they'd crucify her further? Maybe because she couldn't own up to what she did or something?

Jessie Slaughter is just e-celebrity. She was already famous apparently so I guess it's okay.

For the record, I'm not super-familiar with either case so correct me if I'm wrong.

I criticize both of them for being naive twats. In this day and age they know right from wrong. I also criticize the lack of involved parenting which occurs nowadays.

I actually noticed people defended Amanda. Whenever anyone dare criticize her people got up in arms about how she was a sweet, innocent little girl who didn't deserve XYZ.

Yeah some people defended Amanda, but with Jessi they didn't care too much about the provocative pictures she posted online. With they crucified Amanda about the pictures, all they talk about was what the inbred she was about the pictures she took. They seemed to be harsher about Amanda about it.

I guess you never read what the all comments said about Jessica's provocative pictures and than read everything said about Amanda's and seen how the attitude was different with Amanda Todd. And seen nobody defended Amanda's parents and seen how they defended Jessica parents right and left.

The only things I ever heard about Amanda Todd was that everyone was sad and that she was the victim and did nothing inherently wrong and that her suicide was a tragic loss. I never heard anything against her.

I had when I look her up on bing in images, all I see is pictures crucifying her. Such as pictures of her saying" I flash the guy now I'm going to drink bleach" and calling her a w***** and all that stuff. And FYI she drunk bleach after she got beat up in school over the boy. You really never heard anything against her?

I find that funny. Whenever I look her up on the internet I heard people crucifying her right and left. And people always blaming her provocative picture mistakes on her parents and nobody defended her parents but people was always defended Jessica's parents for her provocative parents..
