Some Texas residents are asking for greater say in what titles appear on public library shelves.

“I think we owe it to all parents, regardless if it’s a school library or a public library, to make sure that material is not inappropriate for children,” Llano County Judge Ron Cunningham said.

The Llano County community’s push to scrutinize the local library’s book stacks comes two months after a Texas lawmaker first questioned the inclusion of more than 850 books about race, equality or sexuality in public school libraries.

Okay, so I have a question. I move to US a year ago, I’m from Colombia, I was used to be around woman that look absolutely stunning with their perfect enhanced bodies, so for me that is “beauty”, myself since I have memory, my body have been the opposite of “beauty” I was skinny, flat and not attractive at all, so my dream was to get as many surgeries and fix myself, then I meet my now husband an American man, really sweet but when I told him my plans of getting all this surgeries he tried to stop me, he thinks that’s “retarded” and he want me to stay the way I am, and I don’t like it. I feel like he is just selfish cause who don’t like beauty? And man usually follow all this IG models and everything, but anyway I want to know what other people think about surgeries? What is beauty in US? What is the “beauty stereotype”?

27F Earlier last week on Wed, we went out to dinner and talked for 3 hrs. We’ve been in contact via Instagram messages. Friday we talked on the phone to buy tickets & see the Spider-Man movie Saturday. Fri evening I asked if he could stop sending those IG video reels politely, it was a bit overboard. Saturday before the movie, he said good morning and I replied with a wave emoji. He normally would continue the conversation via Instagram but doesn’t message again until he said he was waiting at the theater. I was not as bubbly as I was on Wednesday, I was very quiet (not against him). He was annoying me during the movie, he’s the type to laugh and make noises when something exciting came on. He nudged me during the movie and asked if I was ok because I was quiet and I said yes. At the end I told him thanks, he said you’re welcome and he said drive safe. On Wednesday, we ended with a hug. When I spoke with him Friday, he told me that he talked about me with his friends but Saturday was so off, he sent a message after movie saying that he wasn’t really feeling it from me and it’s not going to work for him. I left his message on seen. He unmatched with me on the dating app and I stopped following him on IG. Bit soon to say but he’s still following me on IG and viewed my stories after saying he didn’t want to talk to me anymore. Hasn’t gotten around to unfollowing me I guess. My social anxiety gets the better of me with these situations I’m cursed. I just don’t get why I can’t find a guy that wants to fight for me

TL; DR: was he just not interested or am I to blame because of my lack of enthusiasm?

My ex and I broke up not soon after our 1 year anniversary. I told him I would love a weighted blanket for our anniversary. Anyway, we broke up a few weeks after our anniversary. He was the one who broke up with me, but I moved on after he treated me like crap, and he was sad that I didn’t give him another chance… My friends have been telling that he posts pictures and videos of me. I just got a package in the mail that was addressed to me, and it was a giant box that was all busted up…. I was expecting it to be a big gift that I ordered for my sister but I checked my orders and it wasn’t that. I don’t even know if I should be angry or happy lol.

Should I keep it or return it?

She is not a tomboy but she is not ultra "feminine". She just wear jeans, t-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, (rarely) long dresses etc. Just basic. Is it unfeminine when you dont wear make up, or dress up? I tried wearing make up but i suck at it. I dont know how some women know how to apply make up so perfect.

Keep in mind we’re not in a relationship

I’ve only met my dad once in my life, not until I was 22 years old. He took me to get some ice cream. But since then, I’ve never heard from him again.

The only reason we met each other back then is because I searched for him on one of those people search/background check websites. He moved to Alaska while my mom was pregnant with me and was still there for all these years.

But a few weeks ago, I did another search for him and I see that he’s recently moved from Alaska to the state that is right next to me.

Should I try to get in touch with him again? I’d like to have him in my life, but I don’t know if it’s a good idea to contact him when he might not be interested in getting to know me.

My Fiance's Mum didn't Want my Table Top Snowman I had Sent her a Few Years Back, Out this Year, But it was Okay to Leave Out my White Owls (Another gift from last Year) by the Flowers I had sent (A week ago) for Christmas. Am I being Too Over-Sensitive? xx
