I disagree that men are friends with you just for sex. I have been friends with a guy for eight years. We now live states apart and we will still talk everyday and we are always there for each other.
@kitty71 You are probably right! Most guys are like that. I just happened to have one who is a good man and doesn't think of me just as a sex object although we are very attracted to each other
Indeed most of the guy sare like taht and im experience it at this moment something similar. Is he a friend or he just want to get me into my skirt and have sex. How can you find a good man and does not think fo u as a sex object even if you are so attracted? Any hints?
@kitty71 Im not sure. I guess I would try at work maybe. Thats where I met my friend. I dont like dating sites because all the men there in my experience are after sex. Good men are not always easy to find.
Friendship is much more than sharing a lot of time together and common interests. It is a combination of affection, loyalty, love, respect and trust. Physical attraction does not matter. You can still be a friend if you choose not to act on it and fulfil all the aforementioned requirements.
Well I'm sorry but then the argument should be can men just be friends with women. As by your argument women can, just men want to sleep with them which would put that down to the guy
The problem is that even though it's overwhelmingly men with the desires, it AFFECTS both sexes in the friendship. You can't have a true friendship unless BOTH parties are truly JUST FRIENDS.
dear god its like a water down version of freudian psychology, and here I was thinking that outside of some morons claiming to be psychologists with the majority in france, and here I thought we as a species and the field of psychology realized that freud was fucking bullshit quite a long time ago
I used to believe that if a woman was ugly and I had absolutely no desire to bone her, that we could be just friends. But eventually, if we hung out every now and then, something would happen and she would catch me in a reasonably horny mood and I would wind up nailing her. It happened at least three times, with different fuggos, before I finally concluded that men and women simply can't be "just friends."
Absolute bullshit. I have had a number of female friends who I had no physical interest in. They were funny, perceptive, active - and were either involved with someone else or thoroughly unattractive to me. This sounds like something from the 1930's.
@vyvyn That did in fact happen. I felt absolutely no physical attraction towards her, so I played naive and ignored the blatant signal. More than once. We stayed good friends.
This is why guys are trash. Luckily I don't trust them and I never will. Thanks for making this mytake and confirming how pathetic they can be. Also thanks for reinforcing my distrust!
I do have a female friend that I would do anything for but sleep with. Of course, I have absolutely no sexual attraction to her. We have been friends for ten years. I think it is possible, if the man is not attracted to her in any way.
I do agree mostly with what you say though there is one exception that can make it happen: you met online, became "friends" more or less anonymously like on gag for example and then when you see the first images of each other, you're not attracted.
"Before you disagree, though, we must agree on some definitions and situations, and we must acknowledge that every rule has the occasional exception. Yes, exceptions exist, but they’re rare, and thus we’re talking about the RULE - what is, by far, the most likely outcome."

But most guys will always think in sex that is the thing good for them bad for us, women.

You are right good men are not very easy to find I also do not like dating sites well I have never tried them anyway but I dont like them

I totally disagree. I have always had more female friends then male friends. And for the most part I never thought of having sex with any of them.
Well I'm sorry but then the argument should be can men just be friends with women. As by your argument women can, just men want to sleep with them which would put that down to the guy

That's a lot of bullshit coz one of my best friends is a female
If you were horny you probably would WANT to have sex with her because she is after all a female. You can't beat biology.
@vyvyn yeah that's not true
dear god its like a water down version of freudian psychology, and here I was thinking that outside of some morons claiming to be psychologists with the majority in france, and here I thought we as a species and the field of psychology realized that freud was fucking bullshit quite a long time ago
🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a joke.
I have male friends because they like to actually do shit instead of shit around and talk...
1. Bullahit
2. What about lonely people? What if a guy dosent wants sex or a relationship. What of he's just lonely and needs someone to be by there side.
3. Bullshit again. People decide how they want to see people. Just becuasw there instinct is to mate, dosent meen they can't have a friend.
Nobody talk to me.

Exactly.
so you banged and ugly woman?
Absolute bullshit. I have had a number of female friends who I had no physical interest in. They were funny, perceptive, active - and were either involved with someone else or thoroughly unattractive to me. This sounds like something from the 1930's.
If any one of them offered you a chance to have sex when you were horny you would WANT to turn it down?
@vyvyn That did in fact happen. I felt absolutely no physical attraction towards her, so I played naive and ignored the blatant signal. More than once. We stayed good friends.
@zagor That doesn't answer the question. I asked would you WANT to turn it down. It cannot be replied with "That did in fact happen".
@vyvyn I thought the "I would turn it down" was explicitly implied in my response.
@zagor No they are different.
There will always be people who think they can or can't be friends. Some of us are just too pervert to believe that we can actually be friends.
This is why guys are trash. Luckily I don't trust them and I never will. Thanks for making this mytake and confirming how pathetic they can be. Also thanks for reinforcing my distrust!
I disagree completely
I'll disagree with all of this.
I do have a female friend that I would do anything for but sleep with. Of course, I have absolutely no sexual attraction to her. We have been friends for ten years. I think it is possible, if the man is not attracted to her in any way.

Its a great take, but I still hope that not all men are like this
Lots of men desire true friendship and companionship with women.
Their lives are always very, very sad, most commit suicide eventually, and their stories, if you knew them, would break your fucking heart.
Men who look to women for true friendship are literally lambs to the slaughter.
@Bananaman177 How are guys who look to women for friendship lambs to the slaughter?
Hmmm the article makes some good points, but I bet there are exceptions.
2nd paragraph:
"Before you disagree, though, we must agree on some definitions and situations, and we must acknowledge that every rule has the occasional exception. Yes, exceptions exist, but they’re rare, and thus we’re talking about the RULE - what is, by far, the most likely outcome."
Interesting Take, I guess not always but sometimes one or the other might develop feelings for each other
