We Learn Unhealthy Habits Just as Much as We Can Learn Healthy Ones

Life sometimes teaches us unhealthy coping mechanisms while enlightening education steers us towards positive coping mechanisms.

We Learn Unhealthy Habits Just as Much as We Can Learn Healthy Ones

What I mean to say in the dating world when somebody hurts us we learn to shut down, run away, or sadly fight back (hopefully not physically). When someone hurt us in our past we tell ourselves "I will never trust this easily again," or we begin to say things like "All men/woman are the same!" We pick up unhealthy coping mechanisms to deal with pain and we carry this everywhere throughout our lives which can affect how we treat/ perceive relationships.

If you know what I'm talking about and had similar experiences like me you probably have learned to become defensive, overly critical of others or self, or just avoided getting close to certain people in fear of similar situations reoccuring whether it was romantic, family, or friend relationships.

Sometimes in life we have to be consciously aware of why we are doing things and how we got this way. It's the only way to unlearn these unhealthy habits. It's not easy but it's totally worth it! It definitely is a journey!

I hope that you and I, and everyone in this world can learn to love one another, trust, and grow stronger day by day! Cheers to making wise choices, becoming more aware of why and how, and also learning how to handle relationships in a more healthy way!
