“How do you get from the person I met online and know nothing about to having a long-term relationship with them?“
That’s the whole point of going on dates. To get to know the person better.
At times women are interested only in long term relationship, but the same goes for men also some times. It means that there will be a long waiting period till the relationship moves to live in and the sort. I met this guys on meetfems and was surprised that he was interested in that sort of dating only as the past quick relationship turned to be deal breakers. Just make sure to get into the right relationships only.
For me it was when I grew tired of one-night stands and wanted something more out of being with someone.
And while I had to go through several long-term relationships before I found "the one" it was well worth it.
To me it was simple. I was clear about seeking a permanent relationship and my desire to be exclusive. Then when I met “the one” I was consistently good to her and she was the same to me.
Congrats my man! I am happy for you, someday I hope for the same. People that want to be together to do not make it any more difficult then it needs to be.

It's basically a succinct way of saying "looking for marriage" without saying the "M" word and chasing away prospects.
