In relationships, one of the secrets to making it work is picking your battles. Everything does not need to be a war or a debate. I know some of you couples also just like to fight, so you can make up, but I'll save that for another mytake.

Anyways, below are a few silly fights I'm sure most of you are guilty of.

1. Where To Eat

Why is it so hard to decide where to eat?

2. What To Watch

Who's turn is it to pick the movie?

3. Backseat Driver

Nobody likes to be criticized, but if you're in charge of being the navigator, make sure we don't miss the turn!

4. Tickling & Wrestling

Tickling is fun and flirtatious and so is wrestling until it gets a little too physical!

5. Jams In The Car

"Don't touch my radio! Stop skipping the songs!"

6. "You Always..."

Nobody wants to hear what they "always" do that you don't like.

7. Thermostat Wars

Whether you like it hot or cold, chances are your partner disagrees.

8. "No, You Get Up"

I'm too comfortable can you get up and turn the light off?

9. Your Side Of The Bed

"Move over."

10. Can I Have It Back?

"So I thought I was lending that to you, I didn't know that I was giving it to you."

we do Nr7 and 8.
I am always hot and prefer the room to be chilled to sleep, my BF is always cold... so that issue resolved the "side of the bed" discussion: the bedroom window is usually tilted open, so that's my side of the bed, next to it.

nr 10 we never have to argue about. we hardly lend each other money, but IF, we pay it back as soon as we get the next paycheck.

Ok I've been married (to the same woman) for nearly 40 years (July 1975).
In our relationship, #3 has been the biggest conflict instigator! My dear wife is the worst backseat driver the world has ever known. None of you want to be in the car with us when we drive. Lately it has gotten a lot better.
Solution? When she and I go on road trips she drives first and I do the navigating. It keeps the peace. Then when it's my turn to drive, she's usually tired and takes a nap. 😊

All the other reasons on the list are dwarfed by #3. in fact NONE of these minor issues should be a problem. In fact if these are your biggest fusses you get into consider yourselves LUCKY!

Most relationships struggle from financial issues. So live within your means and be good communicators. The rest is just tweaking it.

Who's cooking dinner
Who's taking the kids while the other goes out with friends
Who get the best seat with the best view of the telly
Who's making the tea
Who's on top during sex and having to do the most work

-who's parents house to go to for Easter , Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years

Yes sharing the kids with family over the holidays can be a major issue. Remember you are doing this to keep you children in touch with their cousins and other kinfolk. My wife and I struggled to make sure we all stayed connected and it has been worth it. Try to plan this months before while you have time to plan your visits. Glad you are doing this. Otherwise we all become strangers!

I'd say money and backseat driving are the most common. Money can be stressful when you have to budget everything and backseat driving is a control complex
