My gf told me last night that she wants to die. She says it a lot as a response to undesirable things or situations, which I tell her to please not say but I never thought *too* much about it. She said last night though that she actually wants to die. She said she's not gonna kill herself... yet... because she can't leave her cat to other people since only she knows how to care for him. She was diagnosed with major depression and a few other mental disorders. She moved in with me nearly two months ago which is a half hour from where she's lived her entire life. She doesn't have a job and is terrified of getting one due to her anxiety and it's hard for her anyway with dyed hair, a bunch of bills which she can't pay for, and she doesn't have a driver's license so she can't see other people unless i take her or a friend comes and picks her up (she doesn't have many friends anymore tho and the couple she kinda has isn't usually willing to drive that far). She says her anxiety and depression are progressively getting worse. While I'm at work all day, she's left alone with her thoughts which makes it worse, on top of me not able to be there for her. I asked her if she thought the move was a mistake but she denies it, saying she'd feel the same living at her last place. Before me, she had a really abusive boyfriend which was her best friend since the 7th grade and a bunch of other people in her life that treated her as if they've never cared about her in the first place. She's also on tumblr a lot and follows social justice blogs and basically blogs that show nothing but depressing things, which make her even more depressed. I don't know what to do. I thought what I've said would help, but she's overall pessimistic. She has so much potential to do great things but doesn't believe she can do anything. She's just sad all the time and i dont know what we can do in our current situation to possibly help her. What can i do... i feel helpless. Please help.
