My boyfriend loves touching me, what does this mean?

He's very into public display of affection, me on the other hand not so much. I'm quite shy so things like that embarrass me. I know when I see a couple in public getting all lovey dovey, it annoys me so I don't do it but my boyfriend has no boundaries. He holds my hand, wraps his arm around me, hugs me from the back, always tries to kiss me. He's very open. He loves touching me, probably way more then what is normal or at least expected. He's obsessed with my waist and would do anything to touch it. He's always rubbing my waist and my back and feeling me up whenever we're waiting for something so the bus or waiting in queues. He loves randomly picking me up. He's also given me two love bites on my neck a couple of days ago and they are right in the front so it can't be hidden unless I wear a scarf. I've never had a boyfriend that's so touchy like that. I was hesitant at first and I've expressed my views of pda to him. He obviously stops when he knows I'm not comfortable. It's been a couple of months we've been together now so I'm used to this and actually don't mind it so much myself. I just wanna ask, what is the motive behind touching a girl a lot and what is he feeling when he does this?
