She doesn't want a relationship right now. What to do?

I started hanging out with a girl and it happens that i like her a lot. She has been through some problems involving past relationships where really bad things happened. I've been there for her since then and she also doesn't mind haging out with me. I tried to kiss her (twice but in different days) but she said she doesn't want a relationship right now because of what happened before (the relationships), because she is going away for some days, that i don't really have feelings for her and she is afraid of a broken heart again. But let me tell you i really do like her and i want to make her happy.. And even though i tried to kiss her twice she doesn't backoff and we keep talking normally.. So should i wait or just move on? have i lost any hopes for a relationship here? am i being tested to see if my feelings aren't just something of the moment? urgh.. this is hard

I would tell her though...

Explain to her how you feel about her, however, you respect where she is right now... not wanting a relationship.

However, you would still like to be friends and if she ever would consider a relationship at some point, then you would still be interested.

You're not being tested. She's just not ready yet, and you can't really do anything to change that. She has to decide for herself. She likes you. So either you wait for her to possibly date you or you just continue being friends with her.

She needs time to work out her problems. Otherwise she will bring all the bad stuff in her new relationship and that will end in disaster. She needs to heal and let go. If you really care wait for her.
