...all her texts, phone calls and emails are suddenly more affectionate and complimenting? She's only been gone 2-3 days but the change was almost immediate... yet she wasn't particularly emotional or loving when we said goodbye- it was like any other time as if i was seeing her the next day, despite the fact i was on the edge of weeping, but now the sudden change... what does it mean if your girlfriend suddenly gets very affectionate after she's recently left to travel for work for 2 months?

Maybe she asked someone for advice about how to keep a relationship healthy during two months apart and the advice she was given was to regularly make time to let you know what you mean to her.

Having been in a LTLDR, that's actually similar to the advice that I would give. I had a girlfriend who made me feel she went out of her way to let me know that she missed me, and I thought it was the most awesome thing. For a long time we grew closer despite being apart. Like your situation, she was also always the stoic one when we parted, while I was the one in tears. I could also see it as an attempt to send the message to other men sniffing around on her end she's already committed.

Really, the possibilities seem pretty diverse. You could always ask her. Tactfully.

Maybe while she's there, certain things remind her of you? So yea, it's likely she just doesn't like the feeling of not being with you, it's probably weird for her.
knowing that she's a virgin (I read below), I highly doubt she's sleeping with anyone. BUT it could be she met someone. I don't think that's the case considering she's been gone no more than a week. So I'm pretty sure it's just nerves or loneliness from being away from you!
