My boyfriend doesn't want me to wear makeup at work because he thinks guys will compliment/flirt with me?

This morning I woke up and got ready for work, My boyfriend saw I was wearing foundation, winged eyeliner and mascara and matte lipstick
He completely freaked out and screamed "take off the makeup now! If u don't I'll drag you to the sink!" I got really scared and I asked him "why are you like this all of a sudden? I didn't wear makeup to work until recently?" Then he said "coz I know guys from your work will approach you/flirt with you!" (Which is completely untrue)

As I washed off the makeup off I said "babe don't you remember!! The first time I met you I had NO makeup on so obviously you think I'm hot without makeup" at that point he walked out of the room and slammed the door :( at work he texted me "I don't want you to leave your hair down please tie it up in a neat ponytail for work" I didn't reply back to him

why did he react this way?

Extreme jealousy and very insecure. He thinks he's doing the right thing for himself by making you listen, but he's making himself obviously look less attractive and more like a scared little boy. Honestly theirs a very thin line between being "fucked in the head" jealousy and obsessively, and being insecure/jealous. If you let this persist and you don't like it, he will continue to get worse and worse, if he smokes weed, or drinks daily.. it makes it worse. (Smoking daily, not saying "weed fucks people up" but it messed me up exactly like this for a couple of years. Anyway. To the point. Do not let this persist, tell him you love him or bla bla but you cannot deal with the possessiveness, and if he really loves you he would trust you to tell other guys to go fuck themselves. Just make sure if he ever is physically violent towards you due to this shit, you let it happen, cower, whatever, do not fight back. And then that next day, get the fuck out of there, call the cops, call your hardest male friend/s and stay with them for a couple weeks. Just be safe miss, men can go totally fucking insane over this type of thing, don't be around when it happens.
