+1 y1.) Step on puppy. Puppy may or not die.
2.) Feel like a horrible human being. Out of guilt, build 8 billion dollars worth of animal shelters and such.
3.) Realize you saved hundreds/thousands of puppies by sacrificing one.
4.) Feel slightly better inside since you basically just justified it all.
5.) Realize you still have 10 billion dollars left.
As much as I like puppies, 18 billion dollars is a ridiculous amount of money. To put it in perspective...
This is a hundred million dollars in terms of size (in $100 bill stacks):

This is a billion (also in $100):

18 times that would be a huge amount of money. You could literally swim in it xD
So yeah, it is very sad the puppy would be hurt, but it is going to be worth it in the long run.80 Reply

+1 yOh gosh...
I voted no... But there is a loophole, I don't have to put my whole weight on the puppy.
But disregarding the loophole for the hypothetical...
I mean.
I could do a lot of good with that money...
I honesty don't think I could do it though.00 Reply

+1 yWell the amount of force applied hasn't been stated, so I would pick yes. But I would never harm the puppy, I mean I've been told to stop standing on the cat before when what I was doing was enticing it to attack me. I wasn't harming it in any way. And if this were a serious thing that is what I would do.
I would never hurt an animal that did not hurt me first (without provocation)00 Reply

+1 ySure, just very lightly and on the edge of it's paw so it won't be hurt too badly. Adopt said puppy and treat it to a life of luxury to make up for what a horrible, greedy person I am. (Also build some animal shelters to try and cleanse my guilty conscience.)

As much as I hate animal abuse... Yes I would I'd do it slightly on it's tail so there'd be no damage done (I do it to my dog every once in a while by mistake tbh and he's fine).
Then I'd go and spend majority of it on animal shelters 😊11 Reply
+1 yThis sounds evil and all, but you said I don't have to kill it...
It's 18 billion dollars. Come on. I'd take that bet in a heartbeat and then pay for its veterinary bills.27 Reply
Asker+1 yI couldn't ever bring myself to hurt a creature for money
- +1 y
I get that. Actually, that's probably the normal response lol
- +1 y
@Jon_Gre_g No? That's for food. That's different.
Unless you're talking to the Asker, in which case, I'll see myself out.
Asker+1 y@Jon_Gre_g hunting should be illegal , for " fun purposes " , for food , no

A weird thing about growing up really poor? You know you can live that way, and still survive. Money is great, a LOT of money is very desirable... but you know you can live without it. I think, just as some types of poor people are more predisposed to be criminals, other types are more predisposed to being completely unwilling to be bought, to have someone pay them enough to violate their moral principles.
10 ReplyYes. I would build animal shelters in the name of the puppy, so the loss was for the benefit of the greater good.

For the record, I've seen puppies die of malnourishment and held their tiny, motionless bodies in the palm of my hand. To me, puppy death is real, not a concept to be feared like most people here seem to think.
It's tragic, but you adjust. 18 billion dollars to do good. I'd gladly keep 1 billion for my family and use the rest for charity. It would be unfair to yourself and the people you love to pass 18 billion dollars over a puppy.
Absolutely not. My ethics are not for sale.
I would do it if a psychopath were threatening to kill a human if I did not do it, and I had no other alternative. But not for money.20 Reply
+1 yYup its a matter of logic. And non-emotional consequence
>live with hurting a puppy
enjoy 18 billion able to spread wealth to puppy shelters for fixes and get the dog to the vet
>Don't kill puppy>someone else will come along and be given the same opportunity.10 ReplyI'd jump on that puppy, PS. I love puppies But for 18 billion dollars? the first thing i'd do with the money is bring the puppy to get healed N then go shopping with the puppy N go to the park with the puppy N have fun with the puppy while I tour the world with the puppy <3

+1 yYes. I'm just stepping on it, doesn't mean I'm gonna kill the puppy, and it also doesn't mean I'm gonna harm it. The amount of forced wasn't specified.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yYeah. Thought about it. I would. Probably cry for a day and have mild PTSD, but yes.
At least one of my kids could really use a trust fund that takes care of them for life.
The whole thing is messed up, but whatever. I mean if you asked if i could kill a cow or a chicken we were gonna eat, i'd say yes, i might not like it, but i'd do it, so a dog to change my kids (and hell my) life? Yeah.
I'd hate it but i'd do it. And I -love- dogs.00 Reply
+1 y18 billion? Just to step on a puppy? Sure, then I'd spend some of the money to turn the puppy into my cyborg dog companion as I go on adventures righting wrongs.
The $6 Billion Dog... better pitch that to NBC the next time I'm in Hollywood.00 Reply- 794 opinions shared on Relationships topic.

Injure of kill the baby puppy? No.
I honestly don't think I could genuinely bring myself to hurt a puppy, even if I WANTED to.10 Reply

@Jon_Gre_g No, I like a good steak every now and then, nor could I live without chicken mcnuggets. I just love pets, that's all.
- +1 y
@Jon_Gre_g chicken nuggets are already dead and feel nothing. So I think she'd still eat them.
Chooks themselves are already pets (there's even a diaper range for indoor chooks) and people are still eating them.
We're omnivores. We have a carnivorous mentality. We're going to eat what tastes good and chicken tastes good. We don't eat dogs because they have been ingrained into the culture as a companion not food so we see eating dogs as a terrible act. If dogs weren't seen as companions however they'd probably be seen as just as delicious and just as hard to sympathise. - +1 y
@Jon_Gre_g Yes, I would eat chicken mcnuggets if they became pets, they're too damn tasty.
Yes. You can do a lot of good in the world with that much money.
A better question to ask to test someone's morals is if they could take an innocent human life for $18 billion.00 ReplyOf course I would. I would put it in a sock and smash it around the room for only 50k, I mean yes, it's cruel and all that. But 18 billion? Imagine what you could do with that money, you could donate like 50 million for charity and still have 17 billion left and just not give a shit, you can pay for more dog breeding farms and pay legal notice.
Worth it.00 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. 18 billion dollars lol... there's only like maybe 10 people world wide out of 7 billion humans that have that kinda net worth... and its not even in cash
Sorry pups, but yes I would00 Reply
+1 yAs @dangerDoge said, you could easily help hundreds, thousands, or potentially a few million puppies.
I think that justifies the killing, although more likely just serious injury, of a puppy.00 Reply- 481 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yHell no! Who would do that? Why would you ask that?

Asker+1 yI saw it on Instagram and was wondering how messed up people's morals are.
- +1 y
Thats fucking terrible! How can any one kill an innocent (a puppy for gods sakes!) for any reason other then perhaps a mercy killing?
Asker+1 yI agree ! I don't see how people could do it for money. That would tear me up inside. Animals are valuable little creatures. Money is simply money. Material things should never be looked at greater than life and that's what's wrong with society. This poll amazes me
- +1 y
Yeah its kind of messed up! I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Hell I don't even know if I could kill a puppy/dog out of mercy let alone money.
+1 yLet's be honest, no one in their right mind would ever say no to this. So of course I'd do it. I'd use 1/1000th of it to get myself a lawyer to defend against the inevitable influx of butthurt PETA idiots and liberals trying to sue me.
00 Reply493 opinions shared on Relationships topic. A large number of lives could be saved or improved with that kind of money so the utilitarian in me would feel obligated to do it.
