Being naked in front of friend/roommate?

I do most of my post-shower getting ready activities (brushing teeth, combing hair, makeup, etc) nude or semi-nude. It was just me and mom growing up and after HS my best friend and I got a place so I've never really thought twice about being naked. Soon my boyfriend will be moving out and my semi-new friend will be moving in.

Can I continue doing my morning routine naked or will that make her uncomfortable? Or should you expect to see roommates naked from time to time? Do you have roommates who are OK with nudity?

There is no general rule that fits the situation. Some people are comfortable with nudity or partial nudity at home and some people will never let you see them unless they are fully clothed. As you noted, this is a matter of whet makes your roommate comfortable.

Since your new roommate is a semi-new friend, this may be a topic that is either difficult to discuss or she may not feel sufficiently comfortable to give you an honest answer. I would start out with maybe letting her see you in your underwear on a few occasions and seeing if she follows your lead and does the same thing. If so, then she is comfortable with it and you can try letting her see you topless a few times. etc. You'll soon have an idea of her comfort level.

I am sure there will be a period while you feel each other out. I would not bring it up on the 2nd day or anything as that might be a little uncomfortable. However, if you give it a couple of weeks and were "accidentally" partially nude one time, you could gauge her reaction. You would apologize, and then maybe ask if it bothers her. If not, then you know where she stands from thereon in.

Everyone has different views. Just ask her if she minds and respect her decision either way. If you're wondering how to bring up the conversation just do it like you said here, explain that it's just what you're used to doing and would she have a problem with it?

It all depends on her. If she doesn't like it she'll make it clear. I don't think something that small is gonna hurt your friendship so why not find out?:P

Why not ask her if it's OK. I wouldn't have a problem with it but some people might. Just tell her like u just told us. And if not than u will have to cover up.

Just ask them. I'm always partial but I've been living in the same apartment for 18 years with my father we generally wear underwear lol I even do this around his girlfriends but I just don't care.

Being naked is normal and natural. If I were you I would continue doing it and if the have an issue with it just wait for them to say something. But I wouldn't worry about. Maybe just wear panties?

Depends on where you live.

In some countries being naked is totally natural, whereas - for example in the USA - it most definitely is not
