Authoritarian boyfriend

i've been with my boyfriend for less than 2 months now but he's treating me just like his wife! he's always tending to take control of the whole thing and wants me to do exactly what he says! and if I don't then I know I will pay it back, I know he'd do something crazy to make me regret it ! indeed, last night he called me but I couldn't answer for specific reasons so he got mad and after that he told me that since I refused to talk to him on the phone he refuses to talk to me totally ! he said that he would be away for a whole week! in fact he didn't show up all the day today.. is he authoritarian? or is it normal for you guys to do so ? please how can I deal with him? how can I get over his attitude ?

No that's not normal guy behavior. That's behavior that likely will see you getting hurt emotionally and possibly even physically.

How do you deal with it? Simple, you don't put up with it. As long as you allow it to continue he's going to continue acting the same way. Why would he change when he's getting what he wants? Put your foot down and don't take his sh*t.

However, you will probably find that he will not want to be with you if/when you stand up to him. This is because he is not looking for a partner but rather someone to boss around.

There are so many guys out there that will treat you with respect. I'd advise you ditch this guy for one of them.

i know a friend that has a boyfriend like that. and if he was my boyfriend I would let him have it verbally or otherwise. its' guys like that that make me mad. some boys think they should have all the power. maybe you should let him know how you feel. if you have tried this and it doesn't work,i don't think he's worth it. maybe you both need a break from each other for a while
