How often do relationships just happen naturally?

It just happened naturally ie we talked a lot → unctuously flirted a lot → ended up making out , hanging out and after a week or 2 more.

Mine happened naturally. Sort of.

We met in December 2007 while on Christmas Vacation in Costa Rica (crashed into him in the ocean - was embarrassing). There was an instant connection sort of fueled by the fact that I was 14 and he was 12 (yeah, I robbed the cradle, shush), and we were the only two near the same age and English speaking there.

Did the whole, "Where are you from?" game and found out we lived 10 minutes apart back in the States. This, of course, meant very little to two people who couldn't drive.

Anyway, came back the next year (2008) and he was there. We got each other's contact information this time and texted back and forth for a few years. Our parents were not thrilled with how quickly we bonded and how strong our bond seemed. In 2009 his parents invited us to their cottage and we kissed for the first time.

Then our families had a problem because I got my license and was still hung up on that boy across town. His parents did not appreciate my interest in their son. I was the weird old girl lol. 2011 happened and I got up the nerve to ask his mom if I could ask him to homecoming. She said I could. I asked. He said yes. I picked him up, treated him to dinner, bought his ticket. At the dance he asked me to "be official" and I agreed and... now it's 2017 and we're engaged and are planning a wedding for summer 2018.

So... that's my story. Happened naturally. Unavoidable. But we did ask each other out. I'm not sure which one you want to say did the asking, though. I asked him on the first date. He asked for the relationship.
