Should I confront him about texting his ex?

Hi.

so my boyfriend is still friends with his ex, and they have mutual friends. He's at uni so lives away from me and the last couple of weeks has met up with said group of friends twice, for drinks. I didn't have a problem with this, except for when I saw a photo posted on Facebook in which he was sat next to her in the pub or wherever they'd been for drinks. The other day, he came over and whilst he was asleep I went through his text messages. I know I probably shouldn't have done this. Anyway, I found he'd been texting his ex, mainly about the arrangements for the meet up with the mutual friends. She'd asked him if he was coming, then asked if she could pop round to his flat he shares with his friends in the morning as they'd all been out the night before. They were generally just chatting and joking over text. Should I confront him about this? If so, how do I go about doing this as it would involve admitting I'd read his texts.

You need to be honest with him since you expect him to be honest with you. From what you have described it is nothing to be jealous of, just two friends going out for drinks and to hang out with friends.

You can't, not without revealing you snooped. That could make him lose all trust in you... possibly sending him BACK to his ex.

if you tell him that.. well if i were him i would lose all trust in you.. he said he would just hang with his ex dont confront

It sucks that you did that, it'll just undermine the trust. There's not really anything you can do but trust him

Yes you need to confront him.. no one should be friends with an ex, especially when in a new relationship
