Should I not text him back?

LDR of 6 months... he used to text me 24/7 & then we went on a month long hiatus. After that he basically spilled his heart out & told me he cared a lot for me, etc. I told him i did too but LDR is difficult & not attainable for us & we both knew that. We agreed to just go with the flow & be friends. Everything's been fine but the last 2 weeks he barely texts me all day or he'll just text me goodnight at like 11pm after like 2 texts all day... weve talked on the phone 2x in these weeks for like an hour plus which is nice... but I don't know I miss him a lot.. even though we supposed to be friends but still... my question is when he does text should I just not text back all day too... instead of replying to him minutes later..

Seems like you’re struggling with some inner conflict that you need to sort. From my perspective, he isn’t doing anything wrong, just acting as a friend now. You’re the one that initiated the break up, and when you’re not a couple, well you just can’t expect him to do what he used to as a boyfriend. That makes the situation confusing and nobody wants that. If you want him back, then talk to him about it. If you know an LDR just isn’t your thing, then that’s ok but now it’s time to adjust to that reality. If you’re feeling the urge to not text him back, then maybe that’s good, so you can have space from him and move on. But don’t not text him back just because you’re in your feelings, because that’s just unnecessarily immature on your part (no offense).
