I feel like I'm never going to get a boyfriend?

the only ones that want me are the ones I don't want! I'm 18 and I'm not really sure what is wrong with me. I am shy so I know that I could be coming off as a little standoffish but once people get to know me they can see past that. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong? any ideas?

my opinion is you seem to be a good looking girl should have no problem getting guys. guys at eighteen are usually immateur and kind of stupid so my advice would be to go to other places to meet guys as opposed to where you usually hang out. sometimes a change of scenery helps

Like I said I am secretly shy and I think that doesn't always come across in the best way. it's hard for me to initiate contact with guys. I never want to overstay my welcome

Yes... and now I know I'm not willing to go below what I consider to be some basic standards ya know? the ones that do go after me are just all around all wrong for me.

Each are wrong for me in their own ways... some of them did not share my beliefs or values. one guy I did date when I was 16 treated me horribly (like ditching me for his friends, picking me up three hours late, taking me home when his friends showed up, etc). one guy that was pursuing me decided that after knowing me for a week that it was taking too long so he decided to date my friend instead.... it's all kind of complicated situations. so I now know I won't be treated like that.

I'm 22 and never had a girlfriend, always been single, but since you are a girl, and if you want a boyfriend really badly, you could get one since you don't have to do the pursuing and chasing, unfortunately it is harder for us inexperienced guys because we generally have to be the ones to initiate and ask you out
