I have a Blackberry and I've pocket dialed, purse dialed, you name it dialed this guy every so often for the past year. I maintain that it's not my fault: my phone becomes unlocked quite easily when I have it in my pocket and I guess the way I walk causes my hip to constantly hit the "P" button and dial the first number under that category. I don't know what his deal is, but yeah, it is possible and like him, I always apologize and then ask how my friend is doing. Just because I didn't mean to call him doesn't mean that I don't care.

I never thought that pocket dialing was an accident, only that people like to pretend that it is.
Pocket dialing definitely still happens. I have a bar-style phone (doesn't flip closed) and it just has a simple "Press here to unlock" style screen lock, and it's not that uncommon for it to magically unlock itself and find someone to dial. If you're in the phone a lot (someone he calls a lot so it'd be a high chance to be a recent call/text message/favorite), then the chances are higher that it'd be you than another person.
Yeah, I have done it before. Somehow I had a shortcut for a girl in my phone that was put in, and whenever I pressed the P key, it called her. So there were few times when I called her on accident while the phone was in my pocket
