Why doesn't my boyfriend want me to wear g string?

So sometimes i like to wear g string when im out coz im wearing leggings or when im going to gym underneath my leggings. It makes me feel comfy
When i was putting it on , my boyfriend (we go to the same gym) stared at me and said "why u wearing g string? Dont wear g string"
And im like "why not?"
And he's like "coz there's guys around.. dont wear it"
And im like "but there won't be much guys in the work out room.. all the guys are where you are.. the weights section"
And he said "doesnt matter... dont wear g string"
Why is it such a big deal to him?
Its not like there's a lot of guys in the cardio and work out room
They are all at the section where there's barbells, weights and shit like that on the other side of the gym

a lot of workout pants are highly see through, if the girl wearing them didn't know then I would be highly surprised. I see girls full thong and asses on a daily bases. But god forbid someones bulge shows slightly, because that would be awful. (sarcastic)
