Does anyone else prefer traditional gender roles?

I do. I want to be a stay at home mom and i want my husband to take care of us.
I want a happy marriage where we both look after each other. We are a team, together in life through happiness and sadness.

I am in total agreement with you on a husband and wife being a team through it all. Concerning gender roles, I do like the traditional views of the husband providing for the family while the wife loves the husband and nurtures the children. I believe it has been shaped that way over time for a reason (men are strong providers and women have a nurturing and maternal instinct). However, I think that it can definitely depend based on the situation. I would fully support a mother going to work to support her family while the father stays at home with the kids. Overall, I think the right thing to do varies on the situation and the main thing that matters is that the husband and wife are in agreement on it.

Traditional roles have been broken down this century because if 50% of the population stay home thats 50% less tax and productively. We've been brainwashed to think if someone stays home they are lazy. Really there's no reason to work 40+ hours a week other than greedy. Humans are superproductive but those in power are never satisfied.

I like the idea but housewife is the job description most likely to cheat. Due to boredem. Husband not being around much (cause he has to earn 2 salaries)

I think if you want a "traditional" role thats fine as long as YOU chose it and didn't feel pressured into it by family or society. Also as long as you recognize that not everyone wants that for themsleves and it doesn't make you superior or inferior to them.

The problem with "traditional" role is are when they are forced. Its unhealthy and just plain ignorant to do.

Personally i dont think the stay at home wife is practical just because in todays economy it can be hard for a family to live comfortably on one income. To me, it simply isn't practical.

I personally idenify as feminist but I'm all about having a choice rather than feeling you are expected to be a certain way. Gender roles can be damaging in many ways. But if its a free will option not influenced by societal or familial expectations, go for it.

How your relationship works doesn't make you better or worse than anyone else, that simply is how your relationship works. Just like some relationships prefer stay at home dad, and thats just as good. Some relationships dont want kids and just want to both focus on career, thats just as good too.

The good news is, because of women’s rights, is that if your husband gets laid off, sick or in a car accident or runs off with another person, you have opportunities to provide for your life & family too.

Ehh, not really my thing. Out of the two of us, if one were to stay home, it'd be my boyfriend, I'm not really too into the idea of being a house wife but he likes the idea of being a house husband

I would rather me and the girl both work part time with a high hourly wage.
Then we could both be a part of the kids' lives and be a happy family. Plus we would both have plenty of time together and for our own hobbies too.

I don't want to spend most of my life working away from home, providing lots of stuff for my family to enjoy without me. Then come home tired and get no time together. Plus I would want to get to go to school events for my future kids.

Not really. I'd like kids and a partner, but being a stay at home parent would drive me nuts. I also cannot stand the idea of someone paying for everything, it's such a weird concept to me.

I prefer some of them not all of them. I want to be the primary provider but I also want my wife to be educated and career orientated.

It's gonna be difficult in this economy but you can try, I would know because my mum struggles to keep the house afloat with only my stepdad being payed.

I think everyone should make their own roles. Don't be bound by your gender or by what society expects. We tried that, it didn't work.

Actually society has evolved to traditional gender rules over thousands of years and it has worked perfectly. New generation has more stress related disease because the mother has to leave the kids to go to work.
