I think most people, male or female, aren't really aware that their new bf/gf is a rebound. Only after a while when they got over their previous relationship, they'll see things more clearly and will realise that they only started the new relationship because they needed some one and not because they were in love. So I think it's safest to be aware of the above when you meet someone that just became single and think about what you should do.
I for one try to stay in touch with someone I'm interested in that just got out of a relationship, so she wouldn't forget about me, but wait a bit before "moving in" so she has the time and space to make terms with the breakup. It's tricky though, as I risk ending up in the friend zone or have someone else beating me to the punch, but I'd rather risk those things then ending up as a rebound and have my heart broken a month later.
PS: Unfortunately there are probably also *ssholes and b*tches around that will consciously just use you to get over a breakup. If that's the case, try to focus on the fact that you're lucky to get rid of him/her now and that you haven't wasted any more time and energy on them than you already have. I know that's easier said than done, but otherwise you might end up bittered and perhaps not give someone that does deserve it, a fair chance.
Anyway: The person that doesn't realise from the start that his new gf/bf is just a rebound, will probably feel bad afterwards. If (s) he consciously uses you as a rebound, they probably won't feel bad and you're much better of without him/her

no men don't feel guilty normally, we have this ability to keep our emotions out of sexual acts.
however if the person tells us then we do feel regret but can't help the way we we're feeling at the time, we don't like to admit to our feelings so even deny we're on the rebound to ourselves.

There's no guilt in it from what I've seen. And women rebound too. Ever heard the phrase "best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody"? Most people rebound, so why feel guilty. It's human nature. You've lost what you perceive to be a lot, so you need a quick boost to get back out there.

Male or female they both feel pain and hurt, I've never used someone as a rebound your just hurting more people if you do but it I did yes I would feel guilty but I do know some girls that have no remorse its all about there feelings which is wrong
