Me and this guy agreed to being exclusive in a friends with benefits relationship. We do not sleep with other people. Now we hang out at least 3 times a week. We are very sexual towards each other but we dont always have sex when we hang out and go on dates. Its been 10 months since this started. I have met his friends and family a couple times. So now I want to ask him if things have changed in our relationship but I like where we are at right now, I just want to be able to discuss our feelings about it with one another. How do I know if he is respecting me in this type of relationship?

This became a relationship after the 4th month. I would have said 2 cause summer but as adults looking for something real a 4 month "dry spell" seems like a more appropriate friends with benefits time span. With that said y'all have been dating.

You went to meet the family. Was that his idea? Why did you go along with it?

Are you asking cause you feel YOU are under friends with benefits impression? Are you questioning if things changed in his mind? Are you thinking that after meeting the family that he's settled in his mind that you're "girlfriend" instead of fuck buddy?

No I definitely have feelings for him but I am not trying to rush anything just yet. I do see myself with him in the future, but his respect towards me is what I care about most. I don't want him take advantage of what we have when there is no true commitment yet.

I do not understand honestly. He's priviledged to take advantage of what you have right now because the ground has been laid.

You needed to disrupt what you have so he knows you have a difference between you right now.

Knowing how you feel I would say you just have to discuss it with him. It sucks but that's where you are.

Since everything is good so far continue the next two months finish out the year. If he takes it upon himself to something for your anniversary it will clear up all the questions you have now. If he doesn't attempt to discuss you guys doing what you've done for the last year to find out if you're still good or whatever then appreciate that year and go look for a commitment.

Again if he does not try to understand what you two are doing after a year, you take it upon yourself to show him what's up with you so you can accept what it is or cut it off as it will become draining on you. Your feelings will get stronger the pain will become greater.
