"Good morning sunshine! " "Hello hottie" "Damn, those eyes. How do they picture us together? " "You'll make a great wife and mother " A wink, a coy smile or a fleeting touch... A flower, an egg? s or a water drop emoji... Which one of these is a harmless greeting and which one is a pass? Which one could send' creep and cheap' vibes and which one is just an innocent gesture. Not that it has suddenly become harder to interact with women. Has it made the opposite gender more nervous. Dating has always been hard I guess. The question says it all. What r your personal views on this. And please try not to hate.
Flirting in the age of #Metoo. What's okay and what's not in a post Weinstein world?
I feel like we're papering over Weinstein's crimes by discussing what types of flirting are appropriate in light of his downfall.
Weinstein raped women. He was their boss, and he told those girls that they needed to sleep with them if they wanted to advance their career, and/or get another job again. This is exactly why you can't have a romantic relationship mixed with a power relationship. Bosses and employees should never flirt with or hit on each other; teachers and students should never become romantically involved; lawyers and clients, and doctors and patients, should avoid dating each other.
If people in a power relationship want to become romantically involved, they have two options: a) end the power relationship--one of them quits their job so that they can start dating, or the patient finds a new doctor; b) get married before the power relationship begins.
Which brings us back to your initial question: when the person who is saying those flirty phrases has power over the person receiving them, they're not harmless flirty phrases anymore. You can only flirt between equals; or, the person without power may flirt with the person in power, provided that it's not reciprocated. When flirting is mixed with power, it becomes a threat. And that makes it not okay.
If you're a guy, in a place where "metoo" is popular, here are some tips so save your sorry ass:
1) Don't talk to women unless it's work related
2) don't offend women while talking to them... even if you do then apologize and hope for the best
3) a single allegation of sexual harassment (true or false) can get you fired and defamed and in the worst case, incarcerated
4) always make sure you're never alone with a woman in a room, even if it's a work meeting or a dinner over work... make sure there is a third person present as a witness or cameras being available
5) never indulge in gossip and don't even think about trying to flirt with the women at work even if she's a 10/10 (Unless you wanna get raped in prison)
6) go to another country where the laws and society are less crazy and marry someone over there or flirt with them
Or you can always threaten them into withdrawing those false allegations if you aren't as much of a doormat as some of the guys who did get fired are...
Honestly with some women all a guy has to do is say a simple "hello" for her to call harrassment on him. Its getting really out of hand.
I don't care if a guy says hello to me or compliments me but if he starts using pet names like baby or cutie or whatever that's when it gets annoying. Its still not harrassment but I don't know them for them to call me that.

If you don't like sexual innuendos or flirty men verbally tell him and then tell him to stop. And if you are told stop STOP. It should be that simple.
And any man with a little dignity shouldn't be pussy chasing all the women at work... a little professionalism can go a long way.
I say that all the time on here! Stop means stop! That's the first step not calling for help! Becus the good news is there are so many people out there that will run to help you! But if your calling wolf all the time! less and less people are going to be so willing to help! I no I would fill so bad if I helped a girl that was just using sexual assult to get at a guy! I would probably really assault its that bad!!
@skullwulf Yeup it goes both ways, a lot of women say they went along with it hoping the guy stops which isn't fair to the guy unless he is holding her hostage or threatening her. We aren't mind readers you need to tell people to stop when you want them to stop. And people need to listen to the word no and stop.
O yes I remember when I was younger and they taught that stop was your safe word! Now you just hear all the crazy things going on with nun of the what to do!
I guess its ok until someone says its not ok anymore. Like if one person gets nervous or offended by what you're saying then just don't say it anymore once they tell you to stop. We all have to our brain thingys on this one.
The law in America is fucked. Nothing is ok cause what's wrong is defined by what the "victim" decides to be offensive. So everything can be determined to be unacceptable if you victimize yourself and choose to be offended. Makes me so happy I don't live in that fucked up society :D
Here, women can still take compliments. And nobody in their right mind call a random person a hottie without any previous interaction. It's creepy.
As for women, they will feel the downside of this #meetoo idiocity. Ultimately they will be the ones who pay the bigger price. Men can always just ignore women. And being ignored is the more hurtful...

Well thanks to the metoo movement men now are more inclined to keep a distance because we dont know what is considered appropriate anymore. Women need to be more expressive if they want to grab the mans attention
It's harder because the younger generation is getting dateaboul to the older gen! But they are to dame sensitive to flirt with! Sexy flirting is out! Now its some gay ass gold diging shit! Most dress nice go out to a singles bar right! Then when you hit on them they get mad or offended! (Like I came to a singles bar to be single!) Dum ass people in this word!
Men can't flirt, or really even approach a woman with a simple hello, without running a serious risk of being in trouble. And that's after getting past most guys understanding they will be rejected anyway. It's a scary world for straight men.
In this age, it's no longer okay for women and girls to sit back and do nothing but complain that the guys they like aren't making a move. Subtle cues and coy games are meaningless as well, and complaints about "mixed signals" are quite simply hypocritical to the nth degree. It's time the ladies show us fellas how it's supposed to be done, since we have apparently gotten it nothing but tragically wrong since the dawn of man.
