+1 yNEVER resembling my mom or imidiate siblings, but I did date this chick for a bit who looks scary identical to my aunt Michelle. She lives on the other side of the country and I'm also not blood related to anybody on my dad's side of the family since he's adopted. So that was a bit of my justification, but I eventually found it weird and stopped seeing her anyway xD so now I just avoid that in general.

I come from a small island, if I meet someone that looks like a family member. It usually turns out, we are related somewhere down the line.

I am normally attractive to personality and not looks so that wouldn’t be a problem. Also, if I like the man, why would I, even for a single second be thinking that he looks like my uncle? I mean, I am seeing this man romantically, right. And my uncle is my relative. They are not related, so why would I be trying to find something in common e. g looks at first place?

+1 yNo I don't think I can. When I have sex with you I want to be having sex with you, not thinking about a relative that you look like and then my brain goes to crazy thoughts like I don't want to think about them, oh no that's wrong. I can't. Haha.

20 Reply Everyone is saying no and it's kind of amusing me. (Don't get me wrong, I said the same thing.) It's amusing because studies have shown that girls are more likely to pick a romantic partner who looks like their father than not, and guys are more likely than not to pick a romantic partner who looks like their mother.
These numbers are skewed by other factors though. For example, if someone has a particularly bad relationship with their parents, they tend to pick romantic partners who look as different form their parents as possible.
The idea is that if we have a good relationship with our parents, we find comfort in people who look like them. Familiarity is comforting, especially when it's familiarity that reminds us of the people we are supposed to trust most.10 Reply- 3K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yLol. I’ve been accused of dating guys similar to my brother.

Only when they initially say something but it’s not like I ever think about my brother while kissing my guy. and besides, it’s kind of a compliment. My brothers got his shit together.

+1 yI assume yes, because of the fact people like things that feel familiar. Also I have some pretty good looking relatives, I don't think I'd refuse to date someone only because they looked like any of my relatives
10 ReplyThat would be a deal breaker.. Think I would be too creeped out when I kissed them or got intimate with them. Just wouldn't work for me
10 Reply- 2.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yI could, maybe. I think this would be easier to accept than someone who has the same name as your sister or mom.
10 Reply Yup, i have this niece a couple years older than me and she's fucking gorgeous, if i'd find a girl that looks like her i'd marry her for her appearance alone..

+1 yUh, I rarely ever see 90%(if I have ever seen them) of my family and the ones I do see are relatively old. So I doubt whether I would even know that one looks like a family member.
So yes10 Reply It would be a bit strange at times for sure but I’d be willing to date them if I really liked them.
10 ReplyI don’t think so because it will be weird it would feel like if you’re kissing them you’re actually kissing a relative lol
10 ReplyIf, when I look at them, that's what I see than no. But if thats not in my mind than sure
10 Reply2.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. It would be awkward but I would do it, its the person not what they look like

I wouldn't even date a woman with any of my sister's names. 😂😂18 Reply- +1 y
How she died and who she was around, that's the heavy part.
It was my father's first two kids before he had me with another woman. However, before he met my mom, he got involved with a drug addict. They broke it off after my sisters were born and the kids were left with the addict and mentally man.
She was strung out one evening. The baby got her head caught between the bars of the crib and she died. My other sister, never met her. Don't even know what she looks like.
I already know it's not them and looking similar and identical are not the same.

I don't mind if the girl looks like a family member (that would actually make me more comfortable around her)10 Reply
