If someone says they want a break, it really means they want to try to be with someone else and if that doesn't work out they will come crawling back.
A break is really a break up. I'd never be with someone again if they said they wanted a break.
You should set agreed rules for such "breaks". To my way of thinking, if there's a break in a relationship, everything is fair game unless otherwise agreed. And then you spend your "break"policing the rules. Stupid.
I wouldn't be on a break in the first place. The relationship is either over or not, there is no "in between".

To me when it comes to this it is either work on the problem or break up. There is no in between. I am not one to be taken for granted. The only break I will give is a permanent one.

I consider a break as a break up. As soon as a partner asks for some time apart, the relationship is over.
