Well I'm the one who gave it to him, so I don't mind. He's had problems sleeping due to the sun coming in through the window, so I gave him the one I had lying around from when I used to work nights. He doesn't have blackout curtains since he moved to be closer to me, and the towel he hung up in the window wasn't cutting it. He sleeps much better with the eye mask, so I prefer him to wear it
Face masks and black out curtains can be essential in getting a good night of sleep, especially if you work nights or have a circadian rhythm disorder (like me). Especially with daylight savings time going into affect this week, many people could use a face mask to help them sleep a little bit later in the mornings
I wouldn't mind and don't see why it would be a bother.
I think when your partner is aware of your need, they would certainly not mind. If you don't mention, they might misunderstand. If you don't want to tell about schizophrenia, tell that you have very bad headache or sound in head, and this mask helps sleeping and they would still be okay I guess.
But if you have partner, its best you say everything about yourself. If they stay, they r worthy.
I don't think an eye mask is an issue. My wife needs one because she has a genetic disorder where she has no iris' so she cannot dialate her eyes to keep light out. This means since eyelids are translucent (you see brightness even when they are shut) it will bother her and keep her up at night. I don't see it as anything important except to those who need it. Do what you need to feel better.

No different from other sleep aids. I take CBD oil which is basically a drug and I can’t sleep without it

It would highly depend on the circumstances for me. If it's pure preference I wouldn't mind. Though if it's a tool to shut out your partner, you might need a talk...
