It depends how someone defines bitter. A few girls called me "bitter" at one point just because I said that I didn't know if I would find someone (and especially soon). And it was a time in my life that for a short while, I was kind of resigned and sort of calm about the idea that I might not have anyone (or might not ever get married or I might marry "old".) It was a very short time in my life where I was kind of at peace with it.

I'm not bitter. If I get shot down, I'm still friendly, and I try to treat them just as well as I did before I got shot down. If a woman gives going out on a date a try, it's way more than I expect, so she gets a lot of points for trying. I'm not even nasty to the girls who have been mean to me (and there are so, SO many of those), even if they probably deserve it back. Yeah, it's unfortunate and disappointing that so many girls feel they can be as nasty or rude as they want (in general), when I treat them with kindess and respect, but that's their choice. Que Sera sera. Good luck with that. I move on.

I DO think that there are a lot of problems that guys have to watch out for, especially these days, and I get why a lot of guys would say "screw it" and drop out of the dating pool because there is so many conflicting "rules" about dating. I say I'm almost at that point, but I think I'm too stupid to give it up completely. I have too much hope (or maybe blind faith). But I'm going to keep my head down and try to stay vigilant; if something makes me uncomfortable, not just to ignore my gut because I want to date, even if she's toxic or dangerous.

I became bitter when almost every woman I dated told me how fantastic and I amazing I am and how well I treat them but left me for the first attractive bad boy that came along. I've been cheated a few times too. My ex wife cheated on me openly. She was abusive and nasty. Dragged out a simple divorce for 4 years because I had the nerve to leave her. Eg. We had a prenuptial agreement. She first denied it existed. Her own lawyer drew it up!! He got me an official copy from the court. When we finally got divorced she blatantly ignored the settlement agreement we signed. Luckily I no longer need to deal with her as we had no kids.

Women aren't any better when it comes to cheating they just pretend they are. They're also mainly interested in how physically attractive a man is how he treats her is mostly irrelevant.

Two of my exes left me for bad boy narcissists. I met one recently and for every little thing she apologises. She was never like that. He drives her car and expects her to get to work and home by herself. She works close to me and they've had to send her for counselling.
She left me without telling me about the bad boy. I found out when she changed her profile photo. Attractiveness isn't everything. I think I have every reason to be bitter. I'm not anymore I've decided to stay single for at least 5 years.

I love guys! I've always, um, gotten what I wanted sexually, so I don't feel resentment towards any guys. And five of my favorite people in the whole world are guys--my dad and my four older brothers. But I think I might feel differently if guys treated me the way I've seen some of them treat other girls on campus. And I've seen even MORE women being super cruel to short or chubby guys. At my college there was even a circulating rating system among the girls for incoming freshmen to the grad students. Some girl three years behind me had (irony) her CS major brother create a by-invitation-only file-share of all the "doable" guys on campus. And girls would update the file after they had sex with guys or dated guys. They rated guys FIRST OF ALL on height, then on stuff like face, clothes, earning potential, and other stuff you can imagine on your own. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure some of the personal info in that circulating file was illegal. I'm serious, if you think guys are the only ones who can be cruel, you're in denial.

When you've been hurt and spited too many times, it does lead to bitterness.

As for am I able to get sex and relationships?
No to both. Not even if I put up a "free and available!" sign! However I'm NOT blaming men for my inability to get sex or a relationship. I refuse to do flings and one night stands, AND I have standards for dating. Making it harder for me to find someone worth my time and effort.

Why be bitter towards the opposite sex? Be bitter towards the person/people who've hurt you, but don't blame the whole gender for the mistakes of others.
Besides, how do you expect to have any kind of relationship with someone if the opposite sex if your carrying all that bitterness around. It's going to spill over into how you treat them and how you treat them. Let go of the bitterness or maybe you should just switch teams if you can't 🤷

this question reminds me of a quote, statement, that was released on social media by a dating, relationship, attraction coach for guys, men, he said:

"If you’re angry, bitter and secretly hate women, don’t be surprised if you keep getting rejected. Women smell hidden agendas better than men ever could.”

that quote, statement, did piss me off because it reminds me, that girls, women, can have those exact same type of feelings or mindset towards guys, men, but yet there will still be plenty of guys pursuing them or hitting on them, will overlook those negative qualities on her, still be willing to be her boyfriend, but if a guy is like that towards girls, women, he is doomed from the start. Women still sense those feelings or mindset from him miles away no matter how much he tries to hide it or cover it.

When I have felt that way towards girls, women, and i'm sure for many other guys as well, it's not so much that we actually want to cause harm towards women, it's not that we are blaming them for our failures and short-comings, it's more due to envy towards the social advantages that women have over men and resentment of what they expect of us in the dating/relationship game, system, etc.

No. Despite being of the generation that bore the brunt of the social revolution of the late 60s, I don't resent women. I fully grasp that women have their own struggles and that we men aren't always easy for women to deal with either. Being bitter would just be a waste of energy.

Being bitter would also be counterproductive in getting women and sex. And while I'm far from a Casanova, I can usually find SOME female interest if I try. Full romantic relationships are more difficult to come by, and not as easy to find as I'd like, but I can't really fault women for that either.

Most often, they guy has to put in most of effort. I've never kissed or dated and I'm 29. I was depressed back in my early college years seeing everyone having sex. Even in the park, which was awkward. I gave up and moved on. Once the metoo movement started I realized that women are much worse than I thought. So now I totally avoid them whenever possible. I suppose that I still have some anger and trust issues involving women. It's hard to be really hurt and not have those issues. I have a wonderful wife, and before her had multiple girlfriends some even simultaneously. And I'm no where near as bad as I was. But my anger had nothing to do with the inability to have sex, though my own sexual desire certainly played into it. I waa very angry at myself for wanting sex, that my desire was a betrayal of myself. And a woman who I found attractive added to that desire... No time for bitterness... met many a lovely, patient and genrously helpful in my time. of course had many a raging argument... now i have time to think back and can acknowledge my own selfishness. Women nearly always appeared to be smarter than me and almost certainly more courageous... they were so ok often dumped with the heavy load of rearing the children and having to pay the rent. I've been screwed over by men both men i've dated and just platonic male friends. My best friend was a guy and he completely screwed me over in the end and constantly started arguments just for the sake of stirring the pot (and they say men are less drama...) but no i'm not bitter towards men. I have 2 male friends who are wonderful people, my brother is a great person too. Being a jerk has nothing to do with gender, it's entirely a personality-thing. It's only immature to be hateful towards an entire gender just because a couple people you met were rotten eggs, and bitterness isn't attractive or smart.

probably is just the area I live in but (for example) when I would see a counsellor for my mental health, I always requested them to be male because whenever I would have female counsellors, it was just a gossip, drama, “girly talk” thing for them vs a time for them to actually listen and help me which is what all the guy counsellors I’ve had have been like

I feel like women honestly feel like the whole self development thing is for men only. If a man doesn't act or behave, or look the way she wants, he's trash.
