So I have liked a classmate of mine for the past 2 years, and i know in my head he is not the best. He can be really mean, rude etc, but for some reason my mind/ heart just can't understand that. There have been times when we still don't see for months but I still feel the same like he was still there. I don't know what to do, I need to get over hIm but I don't know how. He is my classmate and I wouldn't want for things to get more awkward and I know for a fact that he doesn't feel the same way about me. PLEASE HELP

I tried avoiding him, and just avoided talking about him in general but it didn't help make things any better. And the thing is we aren't even friends.
