Would it be reasonable to say that you should be angry all the time even when you don't feel it? What about depressed? Or afraid? You have feelings for a reason, you shouldn't be feeling one of them all the time, that's not healthy. Each one has its purpose, happiness is to remind you what is good, important, and what is a stress relief. Anger lets you know when something is wrong and motivates you to fix it. Fear lets you know when something is a danger to you (emotionally or physically). Depression exists to let you know their are problems that need resolving. If you remove all of these for just happiness, you have broken yourself and that is not a good place to be in. You should never be one feeling all the time otherwise you have an imbalance in your life that your not addressing. Not all of your feelings are pleasant, but all of them are important.
False. It's one of societies formulaic tropes that are there only to confuse younger people. Bad times make you feel bad - that's what bad times do. It's like, you must be at peace and relaxed to do meditation to help you feel at peace and relaxed. In order to go left, you must first go right. You need money to make money. stop thinking negative about people that cross you and you'll be at peace inside. Turn the other cheek. Etc.
All these axioms (and others like it) are invented by society because some people believe in them, especially people who are not going through tough times.
It's not wrong to feel bad, angry, upset, frustrated, or any other "negative emotion". They aren't the enemy. They exist to help you go through hard times, so don't ignore them... Just try to understand it, then it will start to go away.
Not really. You don't need to be always happy, because sooner or later you're gonna end up with a lot of suppressed emotions and you might even feel guilty for having them. Cus if you keep wanting to be happy, you're gonna ignore and ignore them until they come to the surface one day leaving you wondering "why do I feel so bad? I'm supposed to be happy". And that sounds and is unhealthy. So rather than staying happy in bad moments, live through the pain or sadness and let it go, allowing happiness in your life again
To a point, maybe. It is true that it's best to try to remain as positive as possible, but at the same time, you also need to process any emotions you're going through rather than just bottling them up.

False. Being honest with yourself is the healthiest thing you can do. All of us see through a subjective lens, meaning that we think something is the truth based on what we believe about it. If I failed 3 tests but did well on others in the past, I could easily tell myself that I'm stupid, but if that were true, I would be failing every test. It's okay to be sad, but to not let yourself become consumed by it to the extent that you feel like giving up all hope. Maybe a better word than "happy" is to be "optimistic" by seeing the good in every situation even though it could be bad. If you get a speeding ticket, it sucks because of the cost but on the bright side, you can learn to not repeat the same mistake.
Yeah, but you can't let that distract you from what's causing said difficult times. A useful skill is noodling catfishes. And by noodling catfishes I mean exposing fake accounts that use internet figures (like Layla Rose) as their avatar.

That's the most stupidest thing someone could do, if you are sad feel sad if you wanna cry just cry you cannot be happy when you have a cut and say look I got the cut yeah i am happy it hurts feel the pain.
There are lot emotions because they are necessary don't pressure yourself in being happy.
Be happy when you are really happy create circumstances for yourself where you can enjoy joy and happiness struggle and husttle out of your problems
False. Being authentic with your feelings and emotions is the key. Everyone feels sad, depressed, angry at times. You need to feel secure that it’s ok you have those negative emotions. If you can be ok with negative emotions, that just lets you enjoy the happy times more fully. Too often even when people feel happy they feel guilty for that happiness; that’s also not how it should be. We can’t predict our future emotions perfectly, but we can control our actions when having them.
False. Always striving for happiness is not how humans are meant to live life. Humans have negative emotions because they serve a purpose, and to deny them is deny a part of yourself.
Now, I'm not saying that you should wallow in your misery, just that you shouldn't force happiness when the situation is clearly wrong.
Need seems kinda forceful. More like can, you CAN be happy when when things go wrong or you're facing hard times. To achieve this I followed a wise motto or saying, if you will: Shit happens... Ask yourself two questions; can I fix it?
If no, ask; will me being worried or stressed change the end result? And let it be, relax, you can cross the bridge when you get there."
If yes; Then fix it instead of worrying or stressing
false. you need to be sad or depressed when shit goes downhill, cause that's the mechanism by which you notice that something is going wrong.
if you don't feel happy at all anymore, something is going wrong too. there's a balance to be struck. you should be "mostly happy". not "always happy". that's when you know, you're good.
False. Happiness shouldn't be a permanent mood, but rather a base-level that you eventually go back to. For exmaple: When your parents died, no point in being happy. You need time to express the negative emotions involved around this suffering. Happiness is then when after you have expressed it enough, you go back to a positive basic mood.
False, because that would be toxic positivity... its okay to be down, or sad, but what's more important is dealing with those emotions, and get back stronger and fiercer.
Feel what you have to feel, but don't let it consume you, or keep you down more than it should.
I think that's a toxic mindset to have, always having to be happy and forcing it onto others. Instead you should strive to have a positive mindset, allow yourself to have shitty times but know that those times will pass and you will be happy again. It is in no way normal to be happy all the time, all people go through hard times but to get through them you need to know that they will pass but also allow yourself to feel negative emotions and to deal with them in a healthy manner.
Laughing while being sad is the part of feminine Cinderella complex. As man you don't need to laugh that much but you shouldn't pull yourself down due problems. Losing humor and pessimism isn't something that others consider as positive.
Yes. It’s best to have a glass half full mindset, even when life gets tough.
Nobody’s life is perfect. Stay focused on ur goals, make the best of the situation, and be happy. Keep that glass half full!
I kinda disagree.
It's ok to be sad and angry and frustrated at times.
But what's important is that one learns to get over it and move on, don't wallow in negativity forever.
In a sense yes. The road to success is paved in failures and if you wallow in depression and sadness you'll never truly live.
It’s ok and healthy to show and feel emotions of sadness. It’d good though to try look for something positive. You don’t have to be happy but try look at the brighter side
Yes this would be the ideal. No matter what comes around a smile will help. Still this is not the same as being happy. It's more about trying to take things as easias ever possible
I think more than being "happy" in tough times, it's more important to be ENGAGED. As in, whatever you're going through, you have to engage with those challenges head on. Actively. Consciously.
I don't agree completely. When things go wrong, you just need not to get depressed and keep working through it. That doesn't mean you have to be "happy" about it, but you shouldn't let it knock you down.
If things going wrong and facing a hard time make you happy, then yes.
You don't have to be happy about adversity in your life, the key is not to be negitive.
If you are going through a hardship, you need to get through the pain and hurt before you can feel the peace again.
Lol no, there's a time and space for everything. Hardest thing there is in life is staying positive all the time. That is very inhumane.
I think there's a time to be happy and time to mourn no one should feel less than for expressing their emotions
False, it's okay to be sad, just don't let it break you
Good idea 👌
Yes it really helps to choose to be positive during hard times
Sure
You should but you don't need to. It does helo to be positive, but at some point telling an unhappy person that they need to be happy will do more harm than good.
Staying positive certainly makes life better. I'm not sure that the woman in that photo is especially daunted by the task in her near future, the way a woman with less experience might be
No, happiness isn't a way of life. You need a purpose in life, you need something that gets you out of bed in the mornings, happiness is like an orgasm, they come in short bursts lol.
False. You can't force yourself to be happy. It would make sense to say one needs to stay calm during hard times.
You don't need to be happy when the situation doesn't warrant it, but you SHOULD remain optimistic.
Yes happiness is a choice and you must choose it in life no matter what there is a point of happiness and absolutely every day
I wouldn't say you need to be happy but you should keep a positive attitude to your situation. Hope that life will be better.
Depends, sadness is a natural emotion, it's okay to feel it, and everyone has hard times, just express it how you need in order to get through it and get back to normal
I don’t think you need to be happy, though I think focusing on the positive; the things you can change and finding solutions.. that will make you an overall happier person
Something will inevitably make you sad angry and/or upset in some way. And yes it is hard to ignore those feelings but the point is to try to be happy still find the good things
Happiness comes from within. Not from external forces or events.
Not so much happy as optimistic remember every day is a brand new day to make good things happen
False. You need sadness in order to know what happiness is like.
I don't know if its true or false, but actually doing it is easier said then done.
Yes it’s true. You can solve a problem by just crying or feeling bad for it. Instead face the hard time with a smile and solve it...
Always expect the worst. That way you're not disappointed when it happens. Happiness will come and if you're always happy then life would get a little boring
Okay, if no one else is going to comment on it, I will.
I love how you illustrated this uplifting philosophy with a picture from TeamSkeet! LMFAO!
Well if your parents die it's or something then it's kinda hard to pretend to be happy.
Not necessarily happy. But got to keep your composure and think clearly.
I think its good to be happy in hard times, that will help you to get out of hard time.
no not at all. it's okay to be upset, but you have to remain positive. Can't let the negativity control you
Always try to be happy. Can't stay in a bad mood for too long. But your picture sure made me smile. :)
Very true, keep your cool n smile no matter what, nothing makes u look worst than a crazy outburst.
You never have to be happy, and it's unrealistic to expect to be all the time.
Happy is not the default mode of the human condition so no.
the sun will eventually die, and kill us all
Are you still happy?
Not necessarily happy but it’s helpful to have hope for the future.
You need to look for things that will make you happy for sure
Sometimes it's not a bad thing to be broken down, staying down is actually what leaves you so unhappy.
You need to hold together even in the hardest times. if you can't do that it's not worth it
Absolutely... maybe it takes a couple of drams to make it happen
You are never required to be happy. Even when things are going perfectly.
Not necessarily. It's okay to be sad. Being sad is the first step to actually moving forward
""you need generating your worth/happiness when hard times come... from inside out."
Possibly easier said than done. You look beautiful if that's you
True, Can't expect everything 2 b same, U only live once. 🤪😁😵❓
