Ehh, yeah in a way. Guess like anything else, it’s in how you look at it and whether you’re capable of seeing all-around. I get your point of why you don’t see it as comparable because you specified pretty clearly, but that doesn’t mean that it actually isn’t comparable. Men have reason to complain about women wanting money from them and women have reason to complain about men wanting only sex. Both have reason; that can’t be changed. The view/biased pet for everybody is whether you see them as equal or not, and a lot of people are like you on this and more on the defensive side instead of seeing the whole picture - both sides combined. But hey, that’s on you. I was just stating the fact part that both points in the question are equally valid.

Animals/insects have to attract mates in different ways than humans. Some animals have to attract a mate by building a nice nest or making patterns in the sand to attract a mate. Some might have to fight another animal to establish dominance which attracts a mate. Some might even have to dance to attract a mate.

Some say the pattern in the sand might show her whether he's healthy or not and if the male picks quality sand she might be more comfortable having her babies there.

It's a numbers game. If you're young and only want sex. Tell them from the start. Don't try to fake date a chick and lie to her.
