Girls, How did you address unresolved feelings?

There was this woman I liked for over a year, but I realized early on I couldn't date her. I never outright told her my feelings, but it appeared she knew them. She liked me as well and showed interest through touch. I had some brief conversations with her, but kept it general. I haven't seen her in a while, but still think about her and will see her again. I feel that if I tell her my feelings and explain why I can't be with her they will be resolved, but I think this may confuse her and hurt her (two things I don't want to do). I want resolution but not at the cost of her. I am still seeking resolution, but can't figure out another way. I can carry this, but it is eating away at me. I think maybe if I develop feelings again, maybe this will fade, but this feels different then the other women. I consider maybe the difference is my age or how long I knew her, but nonetheless this feels different. How did you address unresolved feelings?

Would the answer to that really change how I could I address this. If I could date her, I would have asked her out, but I realized we could not. I've had to come to terms with this, but still feel it. She is a single 21 years old woman and I am a single 22 years old man. We both have different value systems and world views. I tried helping her to understand that, but she only doubled down. I haven't seen her in a few months, but will again. It still feels unresolved to me, but if it's not for her, do you even think it's worth addressing. If not any suggestions?

I mean the way I see it if it's something bad don't do it. You are just trying to address it and find a resolution. So there is nothing wrong with that at all. It sounds like if you know early on you can't date her then let her go but if you feel the need to just talk then do so. Do what you feel is right

I tend to overthink, I think this will confuse her. Have you ever had someone tell you this or had to do this yourself? It's also difficult, because I can't seem to keep a straight face around her, I always smile instinctually when I speak to her, it really limits my tone. I want to put on a serious tone as I see this as a serious matter, but I always end up smiling. I see benefits by not doing this, but still feel conflicted.

Yeah I understand what you mean about putting a straight face and trying not to laugh. And it could confuse her and of course we all overthink. Hope you figure it out and good luck. I don’t really know what else to tell you
