I barely see my boyfriend anymore. What do I do?

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 8 months now. I work from 7:30-7 Monday through Friday and he works from 5-1 or 3. We both have weekends off. This week I saw him once after I got off for 3 hours. I saw him Friday night for a bit and part of the day Saturday. I can’t keep hanging out during the week because I am always exhausted. He lives 45 minutes from me. I’m frustrated that he doesn’t want to spend the weekends with me because it’s the only time we can really spend time together. He sees his best friend through out the week and they also work together. I told him we can’t keep hanging out during the week because I’m late to work because I’m exhausted when we hang out after I get off. Why doesn’t he want to spend the weekends with me, since we can’t see each other during the week? I don’t feel like it’s enough time. And on the weekends he always wants to leave early or doesn’t get to my house until late in the day. What do I do?

You learn this important, valuable lesson: always date LOCALLY. Never, ever start a relationship with someone who lives more than 15 minutes away from you, or you'll rarely get to see them, and you'll be unhappy.

SOOOO many people are getting into long-distance relationships - mostly because they are "shopping" dating sites and trying to get the absolute best deal for themselves - except they forget to subtract points for people who live far away, and so they end up over-valuing people who aren't local and they end up right where you are: miserable and hoping for a magic solution that doesn't exist.

You made a poor choice to date someone that wasn't local - something almost everyone does at some point in their life - and you're paying the price for that poor decision.
The right thing to do is to end the relationship now, before things get even worse, and acknowledge your mistake, and vow to always date local in the future. There's really nothing else you can do other than accept that you're rarely going to see your boyfriend and learn to be at peace with that - which you'll probably find impossible to do.
