Now I've said in my previous questions that I'm a submissive man, and that I love a woman with muscles. In fact, that's two traits that a lot of men who like Role Reversal have. In Role Reversal relationships, the man and women adopt roles, routines, and traits of the opposite gender in relationships. And obviously, in all of these relationships, the woman is the leader. In fact, there's a whole subreddit for these people!
RR men like warrior women, women who are taller than them, athletic or muscular, in male-dominated job fields or hobbies, have short hair, want their woman to be the protector and breadwinner, and more.
RR women like men who are short, shy, sensitive, skinny, in female-dominated job fields or hobbies, have long hair, want to be their man's protector instead, want their man to be the homemaker, etc. And in some pretty extreme cases I've seen, RR women like men who crossdress. Not shaming women who like that sorta thing, but I am NOT doing that.
I guess I could be owned by an RR women soon, because my friend's sister is dominant in her relationships. She's 5'10 (4 & 1/2 inches taller than me), physically stronger than me, a better fighter than me, and loves horror movies with a passion (So do I). She knows about me and calls me "Puppy" due to my shortness and submissiveness to her.
So my question is, how do you feel about Role Reversal relationships? And how do you feel about people who want this kind of relationship?
If it WORKS FOR YOU and you can find a loving partner to be happy with, do so. I don't care what people do in their personal lives if their lives are copacetic for them. Oh, come on Tom. Has nothing to do with how OLD you are. Has to do with if you're a rational, reasonable person. If anything, the older you get, the more relaxed you are about living and let live. Sure, there are some grouchy curmudgeons, but I think their arteries harden faster and they're taken out by attrition. (though there are some miserables who live forever...) Yep, finding someone has always been difficult for me because of my ego strength. Got to have a laid back guy who knows he's a man and won't interfere with me being me. I don't know that "most men" want to be the leader in a relationship. My dad wasn't like that and he was a shotgun toting hunter, fisher, DIYer, carpenter etc. Man's man. But he liked to cook, grow tomatoes and he did the laundry. Both my parents worked and both made about the same salary. They were a team and a great example of a positive couple. Mom was in charge with dad as the baseline. But I never doubted his masculinity or mom's femininity. He was incredibly strong and a rock. Mom was the same way. Sometimes they clashed, but it was over OTHER things. He supported my mom through the last years of her life when she was nearly wheelchair bound and on dialysis. He told me, "That's my job. To be there for her." What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man... If you don't know that song... you need to look it up.
well why not just do what makes. you happy I mean im not that submissive but there is nothing wrong with confident slightly dominant woman they are sexy but in your case make sure it is something you both like and that the relationship is healthy
I think it kinda sucks that we still have defined roles according to gender, I think it limits people because you're either "traditional" or "role reversal" "dominant" or "submissive".
And actually, I think most relationships are just a mixture and neither person cares- they just each contribute their strengths. I've done some research, and sometimes the woman is the sole breadwinner, but the man in addition to domestic work, fixes the cars or does the heavy lifting.
In other situations, one works, the other goes to school... then they trade. Some couples, at one time the man was a stay at home dad for a few years, then the woman was a stay at home mom- it was done without specific thought to roles, they just worked as a team.
I could be happy with any scenario, I think. So far I've been the stronger one physically, and I'm going to do my best to keep anyone I care about out of harms way, but I'll bet you that even the most submissive of women isn't just going to stand by and go "eeek!" while her husband's getting his ass kicked. Besides, ADULTS escape when they can and let law enforcement handle that.
If a woman was stronger or acted protective of me, I'd feel pretty good actually. But I don't ask for that, there are so many ways to show you care. I do love the idea though, that since not every man is a big provider, there are also women who would be happy to be more the breadwinner. Sometimes the guy doesn't earn more than the cost of child care so he stays home with kids. Other than that though, unless she worked in some field she were dedicated to and was going to take up a lot of her time no matter what- I'd rather work so she could work less, because we'd get to have more time together.
I love it. Im not into cross dressing. I'm also not into short hair on women (although some do carry it well). I want her to be the man in the relationship.

I think you're off base Bames. There are warrior looking women, and I'm partially one of them. I have no interest in women, physically, except myself... Not about a man behaving like a woman. It's about us all behaving on a scale of feminine to masculine and all being different. Most people are in the middle, others at the low ends or high ends. Some men are hyper masculine, others hyper feminine: same would be true for some women who are hyper feminine and the others who are hyper masculine. They're not "typical" but they exist along the spectrum. Their behavior is no less valid than yours is. People don't choose their personalities or their inclinations. Those things are native to them. Just like I played marbles with the little boys and preferred my brother's toys to my own. Not that I didn't play with dolls and like them, but I liked building blocks and trains and racing cars more. I took my Chatty Kathy doll, that spoke a few phrases, and pried it apart to see how it worked. It had a small record inside. I found that more satisfying than hearing the same old phrases from it over and over. I also took baths with my brother's battleship and enjoyed helping dad put together oscilloscopes and transister radios and do car repairs. I have testosterone just like you have estrogen: in much smaller amounts than a man would. Maybe some men have more, just like some women have more. Might account for behaviors. It's not about my being better than someone else. It's about my being the best self I can be. You can't compare yourself to anyone else. You might admire someone else's skills, but trying to "best" them at something is a losing proposition. You can only do the best you're capable of.
It's just as sexist to tell a man that he "should be the dominant one" as it is to tell a woman that "she should be the submissive one" I mean, why don't we just jump back to the '50's and say "a woman's place is in the home" because that's what it amounts to.
I think in the vast majority of relationships there is no dominant partner (although it's probably rarely actually 50/50 either). My mom stayed at home until I was 15 when she went back to earn her gradate degree- but I would hardly describe my mom as submissive. She was a hardcore feminist, her and my dad always put their heads together about big decisions, and while he earned the money- she not only took care of me and my sister, prepared all the food, laundry etc, she also tended a few acres of pure garden, we never had to buy vegetables even in winter, she helped build our house, and in fact if I recall, though my dad was the designer- it was my mom who singlehandedly built our roof. She build a shed too, and was no stranger to a circular saw and router. She also spun wool, knitted us sweaters and socks, kept honey bees, I could go on.

Most of how you described your parents had anything to do with domination or submission. I know why you wrote this all, just general confusion. A hardcore feminist who is a homemaker is probably ultra submissive. They usually are. The fact of the matter is she was a homemaker and fulfilled the traditionally defined sex role because she was a woman. So im not sure why you didn't learn from the example. Did you not like your childhood or family? Did you feel like at any moment your parents would switch roles and it was a fluid thing that just never actually happened? These are the roles essentially 99.9% of family relationships have fulfilled from the beginning of time until now. You in fact grew up with them as well and then you talk about it like its so terrible. I dont get it. Do you even have experience with a no HoH? You seem so sure thats valid. Not sure where you got the experience of how great that is. Thats how i grew up mostly and it was terrible and horrifying literally every day is an argument that cannot be solved. aretaking of their household. I get great satisfaction from doing that. My dad taught both my brother and myself to paint the house. Those are not "sex" roles. Neither is child rearing. Societally it's winnowed out that way. But there's no necessity for it to be the purview of only one sex.
A lot of it is because child rearing isn't a role men see as valuable enough for them to do when they can make money. It's foolishness. BOTH parents have unique gifts to give to their children. I love the fact that men are walking strollers and changing diapers and grocery shopping with their young kids. I recall how my dad tossed the baseball to me and my brother for AGES when we were young. Only reason I can throw a frisbee today and why I loved to PLAY baseball and flag football and run... Mom wasn't an athlete. But I certainly was because of my dad.
It's why I'm an outdoorswoman, too. And from mom I learned sewing and basics of cooking, cleaning a home, though my dad mopped the floors too. There was so much overlap, except in a few areas. Dad did the car, tuning it up and building and painting the house. Mom just wasn't interested in it and he was. I like being flexible and I have a lovely tool closet because of it... Change my own oil and keep my car in good trim. It's just SENSIBLE!!!

I've had corollas for decades... I'm about to change the oil on it for the first time. Will be a small adventure. And I feel so proud when I work on my car. I DID IT!!! Why are most electricians men? It's not a job that requires a lot of heavy lifting. But it's been a male dominated job and an old school one where men resented women working with them. And this has, in fact, been the problem in most male dominated jobs. Men have felt threatened by women coming into "their territory." Women nurses aren't threatened by male nurses. A portion of the chef industry had to be sued over sexual harassment and lack of advancement for the few female chefs that have infiltrated the system. The same is true for women firefighters, the military, police.
Granted, there are some physical requirements for firefighters and the military that will keep smaller women out: those fire suits with oxygen packs and the weight of army backpacks come into play.
Other than physical limitations, it's all a matter of what a man or woman likes to do. Whether it's traditional or not doesn't matter.

I do some traditional things, but my work in one job is a male role. In another it's a female one. Personally, I prefer the "male role" job. It's more contemplative and responsible. I'm given a task and I complete it and I feel pride in my work. The second job could be done by a trained monkey. But I do it for the money. I have a two other jobs that I have to start on my own: landlord to an apartment and writing. I am 100% responsible for all the tasks in those jobs. I like being in charge of my fate. Part of feminist theory, as I am recently reading, is to advocate that patriarchal values also limit men's choices, and they should be freed to do things such as freely expressing their emotions. This used to be called a "men's liberation movement" but dissolved in the 1970's, though I have a feeling it has since been assimilated and is still part of feminism but under another name; Toxic masculinity basically describes the same thing only has more of a definition of what it is as opposed to a "movement to advocate for change".
I suspect that many relationships aren't perfectly "equal", or balanced, and to me that's okay, as long as it isn't expected that one must be more or less in charge based on their gender.

I was a daddy's girl and I hung around while he fixed the car and he taught my brother and me to paint the house inside and out as kids. How to handle tools. In high school, he bought me a SLR Mamiya Sekor camera. I was a photographer for my yearbook. Used it in my high school art class. My dad loved to take pictures too. For my sophomore year in college, he bought me an ancient but reliable Rambler and taught me how to check the oil, fill and change the tires.
The three on the tree gears used to hang up and I'd have to get under the hood and removed the cotter pins and realign them. A straight six engine with enough room under the hood for two young men to scrunch down and push the car ala Fred Flintstone.
There's so much good in flexibility. Everyone should know as much as they are capable of learning and doing well.

There are such simple things that make adults competent in their worlds that require only a bit of effort.
Teaching your children, no matter what sex, competency is a gift that gives for a lifetime. I will forever sing my parents' praises. I can clean a toilet and cook a meal and change a socket and light switch and a washer in a leaky faucet. Saves a lot of time AND money. And it does a soul good to know they can take care of themselves...
