Is friendship between two people of the opposite gender possible?

I know a lot people have different opinions when it comes to this topic, but I personally think that it is possible to be JUST friends with someone from the opposite gender

Assuming they are both straight, I think it is possible too, but it's rare.

I think women have an easier time separating friends from potential romantic mates than men. From what I've read, if a man find one of his female friends attractive, he would be more likely to accept hooking up with her if given the opportunity. Of course some men are different and vice versa.

THAT SAID, I haven't done serious research on this, therefore my opinion is based on my experience and what I've read.

In my personal opinion, no. I don’t understand the understanding of having a friendship with the opposite gender, but it not turning into some kind of relationship. 80% of a relationship comes from the friendship part. In my opinion I believe one of the two usually has feelings for the other.

You are friends with this girl so that implies her personality fits your needs in what you like in a person on top of the fact that you like her looks. It is possible. I have a female friend that I know since we were babies, we are like brother and sister. I also had a female friend in elementary school, I used to hang out w her a lot and we were really close. Everyone thought we were together cuz we were really close, but we both looked at each other just as friends.
