Should I have told my boyfriend that I was getting the COVID vaccine?

My boyfriend is upset that I did not clue him in on the fact that I was recieving the COVID-19 vaccine. He has constantly expressed disdain for the vaccine and has made disparaging comments about people who favor the it and also to me when I stated that I wanted to recieve one for my own personal health and safety, which gave me all the more reason not to tell him as I knew he wouldn't react positively and support/respect my decision. This has led to a huge falling out between us and I just wanted to know if people feel that I am in the wrong or not?

hiding things is wrong, you should have told him outright what your doing and let him deal with it as he will. I don't want the vaccine, I think its absolutely stupid how afraid people are about the virus if you actually look at the data, but at no point in time does that mean you shouldn't get it if you feel that is what is best for you (just as people shouldn't try and force others to get it if they don't want it). So yes, lying about it was wrong (and intentional omissions are lies) and it tells him that your comfortable hiding things from him. That said, yes he should have respected your personal choice.

You were absolutely right to get the vaccine. The vaccine is safe and effective, and just because he has irrational misgivings, is not a reason for you to not take it. The vaccine saves live. If he can't see that fact, and you can, then more power to you. Because he made disparaging remarks about people who get vaccinated, it was reasonable for you not to tell him. You might be better off with someone who is more reasonable, and who isn't so deluded.
