+1 yBack when I worked in office, to avoid a manager with whom I had... history, so to say, whenever she tried to corner me at the coffee machine I would say I was late, I needed to go the bathroom, or even had someone else call me to give me an excuse to leave.
Still, one day she managed to corner me and trap me, and it was very, very awkward.30 Reply

+1 yI'm doing the dishes.
I'm having my period.
I can't! That's when I have an appointment to see my gynecologist.
I HAVE to find my dick!! Can you come over and help me?
I CAN'T!! My girlfriend won't get off of my face!!
Or, if it's an annoying phone call, when it's your turn to talk, you start a sentence and then just hang up in the middle of it. They think you've been cut off and will try to call you back so, you take you phone off the hook and all they can get is a busy signal. They then think that YOU'RE trying to call THEM back so, they hang up and wait for YOU to call THEM, which you never do!!40 Reply
+1 yI use the “I’m busy” excuse all the time which isn’t actually true but being an introvert with ADD in my head it’s true. I lose sense of time and after I get one errand done I feel like I don’t have the time to do other things. Sometimes I’m in no mood to visit people so I just say “I’m busy” because my mind is busy with thinking of the things I have to do.

@Azura_88 how's that brave to be honest? Games and lies, and made up excuses tend to hurt people, why unnecessarily hurt people🤷

+1 yI never did this but I remember not wanting to go to the field events on a Friday before school was out for the Summer and I was in 6th grade well that evening I was over at my grandma's (late) house so was my sister... I do recall going over to get candy off of the neighbor lady but that evening and night me and my sister was up all night with the stomach flu also my grandma was up sick with the same thing... So from this day on, I will not make up a lame excuse or silly excuse cause I believe this taught me a lesson just say you will go to the field events at school whether you want to or not

+1 yWhen I used to live in an apartment and take the bus I always got off the bus at the same stop as this one girl who I found out lived right across the hall from me. I always walked the same way as it was the only way from the bus stop to apartment, she would occasionally look back as she walked and on the bus she would always give me weird looks (not in a good way) so eventually I would walk across the street and walk towards the apartment, go to the store at the apartment, pretend like I was looking through my mail and flyers or take the stairs just to avoid feeling like she thought I was a creep.

@Vixxxen I'm glad my horrible experiences with females makes someone laugh.
+1 yI have to wash my hair (I don't have any).
I'm not typically going to make excuses. I like to just be honest about things whenever possible, so if I provide an excuse it will probably be something intentionally silly enough that you know I'm lying, or maybe something like "I'd help you with that, but I don't want to" lol.20 ReplyI never make excuses most of the time if someone wants to see me and I need some space which happens a lot when I'm around a lot of people I usually say "I'm gonna go take a me break outside because I don't feel comfortable with this many people around me at one time." I can understand if maybe you were working on a massive project but to be honest I don't see myself ever working with more than 6 people including myself in in group at one time.

+1 yI broke up with my insanely crazy ex girlfriend about 25 years ago and told her I had to move to Florida because someone was stalking me. It wasn't that much of a lie since she started to stalk me and I did eventually move to Florida. I did move and change my phone number though and I am glad I never gave her my work number or told her who my employer was.
10 Reply628 opinions shared on Relationships topic. To be honest excuses are so easy to track down, i'd rather be upfront and say " I'M NOT IN THE MOOD TRY NEXT TIME"... it also depends who you're trying to avoid... if it's some girl/guy that is crushing and you don't feel the same then it's better to be upfront right away, out of respect, so you don't drag the person around giving them hopes so it's easy
10 ReplyI stick to the truth if they ask. Most of the time I am not avoiding them on a personal level. It's me avoiding everything and trying to just recharge and refocus.

+1 yI'm sorry my fat cock is just too huge. I can't go out tonight. Or any night. No don't come over, I might be gay. Because it's like contagious, Chronic and worse than Covid... Probably. A mask won't help at all. Oh, you'd take it off... take it all off? Take it all inside you one way or another? NO!!! Stop! I can't right now I'm just not um. I'M DYING! (dies)
... That was fun...20 ReplyI don't make excuses to avoid seeing people. I either leave it vague ("I can't make it") or tell them the full truth ("I don't want to hang out today"). I rarely do that though, as I dislike people being flakey.
10 ReplyI don't usually make excuses. I just tell them "I don't feel like looking at your face today."
But whenever I do make an excuse, I just say I'm busy.21 Reply
