My first thought about my ex triggered a recollection of the 1956 movie "The Bad Seed."
Rhoda Penmark, the protagonist of The Bad Seed. She portrayed a cute little girl but, by the end of the movie, you were cheering when she was struck by lightening!

A mistake I made, I gave her my classr-ring to wear she lost it
