Like you just know the attraction is there but they already are in a relationship. I hate these situations so much. Its frustrating , awkward, but more so heartbreaking. Like why did it have to be with someone already taken?

When I was 26 years old, I worked the evening shift in an inpatient psychiatric unit. The charge nurse for the unit was a very bright and attractive woman and she and I had an instant connection. In private, she would be a little bit flirty but it never went too far.

Our staff would frequently go to a nearby restaurant when we got off duty to have a drink and unwind. One night, everyone else left the bar and she and I were the only one left. I walked her to her car (it was after midnight) and she threw herself at me, asked me to take her home with me and let her make love with me.

The problem was that she was married, I knew her husband, and he was a good guy who I actually liked. I was really attracted to her but I've always placed married people in the off-limits category, so I told her to go home and try to resolve things with her husband.

Years later, I checked through some online sources and they were still married.
