Was i [24F] childish for blocking him [28M]

Been dating this guy since October of 2020

Things were fine at first until he started asking me for money

First it was $20 here and there but over the past few months he’s taken advantage of me helping him.

He needed $200,$300 for car parts and his car was broke down at one point and i was helping him.

He would offer to pay me back only to need to borrow the money again so i stop letting him pay me back and just keep it

It was a week in April where he asked for money on Sunday Monday and that Friday and i stupidly cash app him money each time.

He always said thank you but i felt abused financially

A few times he couldn’t even come see because he had no gas money

I guess i got few up and distances myself and eventually blocked him

He found me on Facebook messaged me and i told him why i blocked him

I said you do t give me attention and i can’t take care of both of us

And he responded and said “well i wasn’t fond of you blocking me but even if you were mad we could’ve talked and still been friends i don’t wanna need with you, you look out for me “

Okay so you're learning this guy money not paying you back he's not doing anything for you to say thank you is he having sex is he trying to please you I've answered all your questions and I feel that you are probably a pretty good looking girl you have a pretty decent heart actually pretty good heart I don't mean to put down your boyfriend but I think he's a fool he's a straight-up user because I've never asked anybody for anything. And I've had people walk up to me and say hey I heard you sold your house I heard you got ripped off and I heard you say I heard that can I help you in any way and I would just say no somebody please help me out and do something for me and I could not do enough to say thank you I cannot repay that person fast enough to say thank you and after it was paid I still was doing things to say thank you because that's what you did to me that guy should be washing your car that guy should be massaging your feet your back your butt every part of your body giving you a bubble bath cooking you breakfast lunch and dinner and paying you back I think you did the right thing I don't why you go back with a guy like that but it has none of my business can I ask you something I'm kind of confused is this the same guy that you've been talking about I was just like the second second guy you know I helped out a lot of people and what are the 10 might pay me back or do something for me maybe a year down the road or whatever but at least they try they did something I don't know I can't tell you what to do but it seems like you're pretty cool person and then you can probably get any guy you wanted

Keep him blocked. He's a deadbeat and will take you for everything you've got. I know the type and have dealt with them before. It's $300 today and six months from now it'll be $1000 and in a year or two he'll owe you $50,000 and you'll be in debt having borrowed money to loan to him. Best to cut the strings now and kick him to the curb. do it cold and hard. Make it under no uncertain terms that he is not welcome in your life. Oh and don't be shocked if he actually has half a dozen girlfriends he's milking for money. That's a common M. O. for his kind.

Thank you for the full explanation... Before it just sounded like you blocked him cuz he wouldn't say hi every once in a while... (Some people actually do black people for that reason)
But this is more elaborate and as I had answered before blocking is meant for individuals who are abusive stalking annoying or insulting or negative downers and being that he's a user or not an equal friend/ parnter then yes blocking him would be best if you are feeling used...
I myself just recently had to cut off a friend because it seemed like every time I met with her she had her hand out. It's one thing for me to help her and I didn't mind it at first but when things got rough for me she turned her back on me. I wasn't even asking for money but I did need emotional support and she was not there for me I understand that not everyone can help a person financially however if the person can't even give you emotional support (which does not cost a thing) then they are not good for you. It's an unbalanced relationship and unbalanced relationships are never healthy.
Healthy relationships should be balanced with a smooth flow of give and take from both sides.

Whether or not you unblock him is up to you. He clearly can't handle money, or rejection it seems, and he is manipulating you somehow (maybe not intentionally, but it's still manipulation at the end of the day). He may have a problem with money, he might have a gambling problem, and/or he's involved with the wrong kind of people (I say cut him loose and be done with it before you get in too deep). If you do unblock him, I suggest imposing strict rules on him about how he is with you and money, and ENFORCE those rules with an iron fist for the first while. It's up to you, but you weren't wrong in blocking him.
